I gather that there is a stream on metro.co.uk but my question is:
what about non-UK residents like yours sincerely?

On first listen I was unimpressed, on second listen it's definitely better. I'm going to give it a while to properly bed in before I make my final decision though. How very uncharacteristically level headed of me.

Are the people unimpressed by this simply attention seeking?

I think I'll wait for Monday not to spoil the surprise, but tell me one thing: is it BETTER than The Fame Monster???

For me, it's far better. It doesn't have a 'Bad Romance' moment but it's much more interesting and the songs are just, well, better really.

Either that or they just don't like pop music. Surely it's everything a pop album should be in 2011.

    Now now

Let's not start PSYCHOANALYSING PEOPLE and saying they have PROBLEMS WITH THEIR SEXUALITY just because they're not losing their SCHEIßE over the album

But let's face it, there's a REASON people SAY THESE THINGS

    :D!

I don't even know if you could say it was comparable with TFM. In a way some of the songs sound like progressions of certain Fame Monster album tracks (So Happy to Heavy Metal Lover for example) in a loose sense, but it's almost the sound of a different artist. Judas aside there is practically NO self doubt or concern for keeping it safe and radio friendly.

And besides, The Fame Monster really wasn't ALL THAT. Of course it SEEMED fantastic in relation to The Fame (what wouldn't?) but Monster played it ridiculously safe and Teeth is UTTER HORSESHIT which leaves six (and a half) good songs and about three great ones.

Sorry Jark love, but wait for the CRACK to KICK IN and you'll realise that Teeth is actually quite STELLAR

It's a change of PACE and all the better FOR IT

Monster was a great album. She really perfected the formula there, and the brevity really worked in its favour. The only weak link was the GHASTLY Speechless. :zombie:

Speechless, Telephone and Bad Romance are the only ones I truly love from Monster.

I don't really like much of The Fame Monster (or her output before that) but I can recognise quality pop when it's slapped in front of me.

The fact that I'd only play "Monster" or "Teeth" through choice is really neither HERE nor THERE.

    I want your whisky mouth
    All over my blonde south

    I could be your girl
But would you love me if I ruled the world?

Heavy Metal Lover has just become the greatest thing she has ever done. And likely ever will.

I've realised what I was thinking of when I was comparing Electric Chapel to a Catatonia song - I actually had this in mind:

    <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/JsMUQK4jdsQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It surely has to be an official sample

    LIVE RATE THOUGHTS

    11 Marry The Night
    09 Born This Way
    13 Government Hooker
11 Hair (SO MUCH BETTER ON THE ALBUM)
    13 Judas
20 Americano (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING LITERALLY PERFECT)
    10 Bloody Mary
    06 Bad Kids
07 Highway Unicorn (FINDING IT HARD TO CONCENTRATE AT THIS POINT, JUST WANNA LISTEN TO AMERICANO AGAIN)
10 Heavy Mental Lover (really reminds me of Buy Now in places)
    08 Electric Chapel
19 You & I (I have been waiting to hear the studio version of this since it debuted last summer. It IS PERFECT)
18 Edge of Glory - I'm on the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, THE EDGE

Conclusion: This is TOTALLY going to be one of those "where were YOU when you first heard it" moments. BRAVO GAGA, and what a wonderful FUCK YOU ALL to the VoR's of this world. N.B. nothing personal vor, you're just a figurehead for those NEGATIVE NANCYS out there. And you hate it, so I suppose the fuck you applies to you too.

My scores may have become a little skewed towards the end of this BUT I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT SO

Hang on let me get this right, you've given 'Americano' a 20/10 ? :D

Is that a Moopy first? in that case I'm going to need MULTIPLE POSTS to accommodate THE SCORE I intend to give 'Marry The Night'

I just deleted Femme Fatale from my computer. There's no point in possessing that material now that I have Born This Way.
