Thirded, or as i imagine, millionthed. I still drag out MTN and HML once or twice a week whist running. I'm already ancticipating, however unrealistically so, that the live versions help sustain the album in the long run, or at least induce another temporary swoon period at year's end.

It's clearly a STATEMENT album, not sure if that will help or hurt it in the long run. It doesn't really sound like anything that's currently on the charts so in that aspect it will be interesting to look back on, not to mention many of the themes on the album ("Born This Way", "Americano", "Government Hooker") are quite apt for this time in history.

Just giving the album a listen through today after not really bothering with it for the past week or so and editing my itunes ratings; apparently I rated Americano only 2 stars on first listen :(

I know right. HEre comes a singer who doesn't sing about being in a club falling in love and asking the DJ to play her fave song and putting your drinks up.

The relentless Gaga bashing around here is ridiculous

Meh, it's a good balance for the relentless overpraising of her.

P.S. nice avatar northern lad. The sexy dead bastard.

Saying her previous work was better is now relentless bashing?

There is a definite correlation between the H8RZ and Nicola Roberts loons

saying it on repeat for 15 pages (and that's just ONE thread) is pretty relentless I'd say, yeah.

I still love her new album better than her previous one. It's a hundred times more mature work.

It's not just saying that her previous work was better

It's 'The album is underperforming' (by what measure?); 'The album has no longevity' (after two weeks?); 'The Haus of Gaga has run out of ideas' (she's always looked shit)

How can you say whether anything has longevity after two weeks? After six months, a year, maybe...

Some are just clutching at straws really, she's definitely not for everyone but to say the performance of BTW (which has sold nearly 2.5 million in its first two weeks and gotten generally great critical reviews, surely this is rare in pop music for both sides to be so enthused about a pop album) is the signalling of a FALL FROM GRACE is just ludicrous. Relative to WHAT exactly? Was she supposed to top Adele's sales by now?

You'd think Born This Way was actually BIONIC the way some people here have been talking about it

Well I suppose it is a TAD DRAMATIC, but speaking for myself I almost always JUST KNOW after a few weeks how an album is going to resonate with me in the long run.

But yes, I really just don't get people that are already going on about diminishing returns and all that. At this moment, you can't get any bigger.

I think people just DON'T WANT HER TO DO WELL for some bizarre reason.

I've been resting the majority of this album for about a week and I have to say that upon revisiting it everything seems EVEN MORE MAJESTIC than EVER. What a triumph.
