in regards to her vocals on BTW and Judas, she DEFINITELY sounds as though she's desperate for her voice to sound crisp and clear, without caring that it actually sounds completely VOID of any human emotion whatsoever.

This is all OLD HAT but it really does get worse all the time :( I thought I might grow to love it, and yes in its own right it's still an okay pop song, but it feels weaker with every listen. Before it was like she OWNED Red One and everyone else got shitty offcuts. This is obviously a Lady Gaga song but like it's from her own reject bin. It does make me think back to when she said the Fame Monster stuff was meant to be for a new album...did she just STOP trying to create something better again? Because as a lead single nothing could be better than Bad Romance, so maybe that original plan should have stayed. Let's face it it would have been a better result all around..

I know she's set the bar so high for herself that anything less than stellar would be a disappointment - all of her singles before this year were full on incredible for me bar "Love Game" - and then she comes back with her worst two ever. Also they've all sounded relatively different to me, each of her songs has had its own character and sound. But VOR is right - Born This Way was different again but SHIT, Judas was the first one to feel like a copy, and again it's SHIT.

    WHAT HAS HAPPENED?

At least "Oops I Did it Again" had the decency to be a GOOD clone!

Down to #13 on iTunes now. Wonder if it might slip below 'Born This Way' (#21)?

For what it is worth, I think she needs to relax a little. She has assumed this messianic image, and living up to it might just be getting in the way of the tunes. When she came on to the scene, carrying that teacup, she was spectacular, but inherently more fun.

My main gripe with both singles is her out-of-nowhere tendency to cram way too many words and syllables in to the chorus melody. It gives off an overall vibe of throwing everything in to it and seeing what sticks. In the past her choruses were honed and meticulous, now they just sound hacked and rushed.

What I wouldn't give now for a simple but spectacular pop song like "Just Dance" with a RELATIVELY basic video where she's just being a GOOD POPSTAR.

'Just Dance' got LOST in the UK after 'Poker Face' but I have always maintained it is POP PERFECTION. I don't know much, but I know pop perfection.

I have always preferred it to "Poker Face". In fact it's still my 1st or 2nd favourite Gaga song depending on mood I think. POP PERFECTION is right, Halli, and we need it BACK. And it's about nothing other than dancing and getting shit faced isn't it?! So SIMPLE and brilliant, yet feels like another Gaga who did that...

Just Dance is good, but it's one of my least liked singles.

Alright I've made my mind up, while this is a major improvement compared to Born This Way it still doesn't come anywhere near any of the singles from her first album. I'm not sure I like the Juda-Juda-a-a gaga part either, you've done that already for Bad Romance Gaga.

"'In the biblical sense, I'm beyond repentance'... you CAN be forgiven, don't beat yoself up gurl. 'I am a fame hooker'... errybody wants attention, I UNDERSTAND. 'A prostitute wench'. WELL. Yeah, you gon' have to work on that part." :D

Wow that performance...what the hell happened to her?? she looks even more haggard and like a drag queen than her usual self and the dancing was sad like a broken marionette.

Bit of a disappointing performance - she was a bit out of breath and even out of time in some bits, but I suppose it was the first ever perf so the imperfections are inevitable. Looks like they're going for the "less is more"/early-Gaga vibe for this single though, which means the criticisms are getting to her.

I mean, if anything, the hair, choreography and blue outfit instantly reminded me of the "Poker Face" video. Which, yes, is a GOOD thing!

I just took a look at the chart positions for this around the world, and they're certainly not great by her standards. Time for a re-think Gags.
