I hold out hope that there will be some gems on the album though! She usually confounds my expectations
I adore it! And I actually quite enjoy the messy video— I’m hoping she releases an extended version of the song with the extra ad-libs and drama.
instant classic to these ears. the video is nice too! that interview. dear lord. all i could think about is Azealia getting her hands on it.
i just googled her latest news looking for Lana dirt and... https://www.theSTOP FUNDING HATE/tv...-banks-dead-cat-lucifer-grave-horrified-fans/
i like how we cant share The Sun articles. 'neway, apparently Azealia dug up a dead cat from the grave and cooked its bones to bring it back to life so she's got a lot on her plate right now
Each listen reveals something new to love. Today's revelation are these moments and how her voice just reverberates - CHILLS: White picket chemtrails over the country club My love, my looooooveeeeeeeeee...... It's never too late, baby So don't give uuuuuuuuup...... It's never too late, baby So don't give uuuuuuuuup......
Ok she has provided me with enough mental gymnastics to defend her But... 'everyone thinks I'm a white republican because of the way I look', omg seriously Lana? *sigh*
To be fair, her opinion that Trump is too oblivious to realize the implications of his dangerous behavior and influence is not a controversial opinion nor is it any different than what has been expressed on The View and other mainstream media outlets since the storming of the Capitol. I think the difference is that Lana lacks TACT in what she says, and was generally struggling to get her point across that entire interview. She isn't immune from criticism, I just don't think the punishment fits the crime. With THAT SAID, she needs to CLEAN HER BEDROOM.
For someone who has such a way with words and beautiful turns of phrase when it comes to her lyrics, her lack of tact has been all the more jarring!
She went on to say that she thinks he's mentally unwell and used the term "delusions of grandeur". Still not the best thing to say but she didn't quite mean how it sounds in isolation. And would you look at that!
she really ended the video with "so.... fuck you." none of this comes as a surprise. last year she confessed "I'm really not more of a liberal than I am a Republican—I'm in the middle." Chemtrails already her most exciting era since Ultraviolence. i hope Tulsa Jesus Freak is about her getting fingered in a Church bathroom.
Somewhere in the heart of Africa, Madame X is looking at all of this and is already plotting an instagram video to one-up Lana's controversy. Fear not LDR stans, for Madame X has everyone covered when it comes to tactless social media posts!
Love her calling out magazines with whom she's had a "special" relationship. Beef is one this but Lana is having a barbecue here.
Lol @ citing her special relationship like she and Complex are the Bush having his dick sucked by Blair of the 2010s. Bitch. You did some magazine features, it doesn't mean you're beyond reproach. more than anything her dramas from 2019 onwards have revealed that she has a very thin skin indeed.
I remember that her being a twenty something just starting out, writing and singing songs referencing herself as a Lolita and being every man's desire, singing about having a "daddy" who would pimp her out or buy her presents all the time (preferably a RED dress) and roaming around California recklessly did raise a couple of red flags but I always assumed she was getting into character
Well, where does Elizabeth end and Lana begin? Bowie drove himself properly mad by being Ziggy and The Thin White Duke rather than just David Bowie (which wasn't his name to start with). It's a tough gig being a full time character. Lana's lost touch with the world around her which is fixable. Bowie ended up keeping his wee in the fridge to ward off witches.
I've been in a Lana vortex since the sync listen & COCC release and of course this car crash has only cemented it. Having major feels with Lust for Life tonight.

I gave it a first listen just this evening. It didn't instantly grab me, but Lana songs often take a few spins to get their hooks in. I'll report back!
Quite good globally for a weekday debut. USA not so much. more relevant will be how it does tomorrow and thereafter.

I like the song. The video doesn't fit with it at all - if it's part of a series that unfolds, OK, we'll see. As much as she's shown at least one cheek of her arse, we're not exactly in Morrissey territory yet, unless I've missed a meeting.
