Sounds good. Jack Antonoff has been involved in some of the best albums of the last few years (as well as Reputation by Taylor Swift, but you can only work with what you're given I suppose) so I'm excited to hear what they've come up with together.

The "write-yr-own-Lana-title" game is now pretty much over. My favourite was "Rich Pussy Stars and Suicide Stripes".

    I'M YOUR MAN

Excellent. Feels reassuringly familiar straight away, but maybe more of a early seventies singer songwriter mood this time.

Instantly one of the best things she's done in years. Fucking gorgeous. I hope I can get properly back on board this time :disco:

"Venice BItch"? Oh COME ON. What's next? "Lost Angeles"? "Wokelahoma"? "Alaskant"? "I'm So So Sad North Dakota"?

Oh I know it's more of the same but it's just so beautiful. Still not tired of her shtick.

I'm just coming back into the thread to say that I'm really proud of "Wokelahoma" even if (a) the likelihood of me having actually come up with this first is so small as to be indetectable under a photon microscope (b) Lana is far more likely to make "Lost Angeles". Cheers.

It's very pretty and psychedelic rock serves her voice and melodies well, but I imagine I'll be playing Mariners more. if just for the fact that Iife is short

Christ almighty, has she had a breakdown or something?

Totally and utterly here for this.

Venice Bitch is fine (if not 10 minute fine) but not a patch on Mariners Apartment Complex.

It feels a bit odd getting this quick 1-2 and then having a wait until some point in the new year for the album.

I think "venice bitch" is the best thing she has done in a while -and something she hasn't done before musically before - I really hope this is a blueprint for the new album.

I haven't had the chance to listen yet but is it like "Ride" where the actual song is about 4 minutes or is it an actual 10 minute song?

Very nice on first listen although I kind of hoped it would GO somewhere. She's really not trying to be commercial at all this time round - very different to the Lust for Life era

She seems happy to flit between the commercial and the uncommercial and I have to say, I encourage this. Bowie made a career out of it, aye?

AKA more of exactly the same :tongueout:
There's a bit of a Lana sat round (well, slumped next to) the camp fire vibe to the songs we've heard so far. I'm not sure I'm entirely thrilled but I'm still here for it (provided there are no "special guests" this time :zombie:)

She said previously that this album doesn't have any duets or featurings, I think. But she also said it was electric guitar heavy which this track doesn't exactly show off

Have loved all 3 tracks from the new album so far. Sure, it's the same old shtick but I'm happy to keep lapping it up tbh.

TBH the more obviously commercial tracks on ‘Lust For Life’ didn’t exactly propel her into the hit single stratosphere, so I’m all for Madame pleasing herself this time round

She’s really churning them out. I was absolutely not impressed with the last album, hopefully this is better.

Even Rihanna had more time between her first 7 albums.

She probably walks in, babbles for a few hours about whatever and then they cut them into songs.

It’s probably fair to say that she doesn’t exactly mix up the melodies but then I’ve got every Enya album so who am I to judge :side-eye:

She always sounds like she's slowly being stabbed which I'm not really into but I do have a soft spot for this remix:

Oh God I can’t listen to ‘Summertime Sadness’. It reminds me of a mixtape (:side-eye:) I did for that one with sleep apnea who had the rarely rinsed foreskin and was always going on about his dead sister

Also he DIDN’T GET Tim Hecker’s ‘The Piano Drop’ WELL I ASK YOU. Chords not in the vocabulary love?

She tends to leave 1.5 - 2 years between albums. I love that you can rely on Lana to provide new music on a regular basis (take note Kate Bush). I'm always ready for the next Lana album when it arrives.
