If Zu is going derail a Lana thread with some Tim Hecker, I need to trump that by getting the Madonna thread onto Nurse With Wound...

i am watching this and equal parts squealing, embarrassed and you-go-girl-ing at her attempts to hit the high notes.

That's pretty horrible. She's usually pretty good at hitting the high notes in a pretty vibrato-y way

it's diabolical! the way her backing vocal is escaping her too. and trying to pass the pre-recorded whistling as her own: amazing(ly sad).
i actually think this is the third or fourth time i've ever heard her sing live.

i love the comments on youtube.

    voice of an angel!

between trump, the popularity of cardi b and people thinking that's how angels sound, i'm starting to doubt my own sanity.

I always presumed that she couldn’t sing live because I had a notion that everything was recorded lying down à l’Amanda Lear (:disco:) but what I’ve seen of her has actually been quite good. Apart from this :side-eye:

All this Lana chat is reminding me of the time when I didn’t see her at Lovebox. Obviously I was convinced she’d be on the main stage AS WAS ONLY RIGHT so stayed there for the duration, only for someone to trot along saying that Lana had been amazing and that she’d already been on somewhere else. Oh the lunacy on my part. NO SHE HASN’T! SHE HASN’T! NO SHE HASN’T!

Oh it went ON AND ON :(

I’m alright with her not setting the charts on fire, but I actually like her more commercial more accessible side too.

The 'OH MY GOD' is particularly awful (and not in the original song). But yeah I think this is an anomaly... Although I've never actually seen her live myself, hopefully next tour

She generally gives a decent to good vocal Ultraviolence and beyond.

These are my two fav Lana live moments:

Still not technically perfect but she strikes a nerve in both performances.

1:17 of "Shades of Cool" gets me every time

    Yet I can't fix him
    Can't make him better, no...
And I can't do nothing about
    His strange weather, no
    :(

I gave "hope is a dangerous thing..." a listen at midnight in the dark on earphones and I was blown away. I had thought it was a bit boring but actually it's gorgeous if you listen in the right frame of mind. I like how the microphone picks every sound up, every little breath and swallow - it makes it sound so intimate.

I'm hoping for an album announcement soon so that I know what to do with all these songs ie what's on it, what isn't, what can I get in FLAC cos I'm a snob etc.

YES. I think I'm going to adore the album. All the snippets on her Instagram sound so good.

It's even unclear at this stage whether any of the three 'singles' will even be in the album. It's only an 11 track album.

I have to say Venice Bitch is one of my favourite things she's ever done. You can just float in it. I find it really interesting, hypnotic even

Hopefully I'm going to see Lana live at Latitude this summer. I have no idea if she's any good live. Pleasing anyway.

In a fucking bizarre turn of events, "Norman Fucking Rockwell" was DELETED by accident! It's not happening!

Well, not deleted, the computer got broken. No back-ups Lana? Daftie.

EDIT - HOAX. It seemed a bit far fetched there would be no backups anywhere but this is apparently an April Fool released a day early (not by LDR, I should add)

Although she could have accidentally deleted “Hope is a Dangerous Thing...” and I wouldn’t have been too bothered...

At this rate we'll have the whole album before it's released. If any of these songs are actually in the album, that is

New track Doin' Time released today, a very good cover of the Sublime track for a documentary about Sublime. It will not be on NFR, if NFR really exists.

This is now by far my favourite Lana song since the undiluted misery porn of The Blackest Day. It's fucking sensational. It better make the fucking record.

I'm actually now afraid that I will shuffle off this mortal coil before this album shows up.

I'm hoping we just get a 20-song DROP out of nowhere, like on a Tuesday afternoon in June or some equally random time.
