    Upside Down is iconic.

I'm never entirely sure what qualifies as Italo Disco and what's just chicken in a basket 80s Europop, but if this counts it's an ALL TIME fave chez VoR.

All time classic. But it's not really Italo Disco, it's more of a homage to 70s disco.

I really should avoid this thread. I've been stuck in a Fancy loop for the best part of an hour.

I'm worringly enamoured by this. :D :bruised:

    That's because it's FABULOUS

    FANCY FÜNF

    1. Bolero (Hold Me In Your Arms Again) - I once read that this was number one for six months in Spain and naturally I chose to believe it
    2. Flames Of Love - I cry out, melting in FLAMES OF LOVE :disco:
    3. Lady Of Ice
    4. Slice Me Nice - :D I'm like a cake that wants to be baked INDEED. SLAG!
    5. No Tears - Fabulous 'It's A Sin' rip off (actually, that's 'Fools Cry' - naughty wine)

    FANCY FÜR IMMER

FANCY SOME VOX-OF-A FLAT-ANGEL VAL? I had no idea this version even EXISTED until today's little delivery of delicious goods from exotic foreign lands. SO FANTASTIC :disco:

I bought this on spec earlier because there was something about the cover (and it being on zyx) and OH MY DAYS it turns out to be something I once taped off French radio and truly fucking loved but I never knew who it was by. That synth line at 1:01 makes me want to SCREAM NON-STOP

    :disco: FOREVER

That Cristina track is quite a treat. I did start to buy those Zyx Italo Disco Collection CDs, but to say they are a MIXED BAG in terms of quality is putting it MILDLY.

I've got pretty much the LOT and you are NOT WRONG

There's one particularly ODD one at about volume 12 where it all goes ITALO HOUSE and SAW RIPOFFS

:grr: Why did no-one ever tell me that Mention had a thoroughly ITALOTASTIC follow-up to 'Strange World'?

Naturally I have hastily ordered the ITALIAN 12" IMPORT :disco:

IKR! The only clue that it's not yer actual Nicolosi production is the lack of lying-down-singing-through-a-cardigan-after-the-week's-fifth-Quaaludes-incident vocals courtesy of DEAR OLD DORA. Speaking of which, Alba's 'Only Music Survives' 12" has turned up today and at least she made an effort on that one

    COMPARATIVELY SPEAKING

Thanks to MARX AND SPENCER (see above somewhere) I have become trapped in a vicious cycle of REALLY TERRIBLE ITALO COVER VERSIONS

:D And a TOP DISCO-HIT ITALY! This supports my theory that they were all on benzos in the Eighties

This is my current favourite thread. Amazing tracks here. But oh gosh, that Upside Cover is one of the most bizarre things I've heard (aside from the 10min Handel Disco onslaught in the disco thread I couldnt sit through)

I need a decent rip of DALT VILA and their quite extraordinary take on UPSIDE DOWN. The one I have sounds like it was recorded from a 78 using a CHEESE GRATER :wired:
