Two-spirit is a new one to me (well not entirely) based on the Native American who are MALE and FEMALE. Why is the UK based Pink News, pushing something from ANOTHER CULTURE? When does it become CULTURAL APPROPRIATION?

I've never had anyone take offence at me saying LGBTQ on the basis of it not saying enough.

If anything, what riles me more is when people lump in letters when they have fuck all to do with what they're saying - saying something was 'good for LGBT representation' when actually it was pretty solely good for gay representation, or did nothing whatsoever to advance trans issues.

I've come across far more people who've objected to being held up as behind something under the LGBTQ umbrella that did nothing for some of those letters than I have people who've complained that they've been left out because someone didn't say K or 2, and I think most of the arguments in that respect are an unrepresentative extreme mostly only really held up to mock us. Not least when our prime minister can't even remember the fucking first four alone.

I'm glad you've said this because I've felt that T doesn't really belong on several occasions. My experience of LGBT organisations isn't extensive but that's because it was poor - it was clear that it was a small "L", a Saturn-sized G, no B and the T stood for "The Drag Queens"

It is starting to look like someone banging their head off a keyboard. Which, ironically, is what happens on Twitter if you get it "wrong"....

Can't believe men are dominant. That's never happened before.

As a gay man I have little understanding of trans or bi issues. They've come together because they shared similar fights, but that's why I like LGBTQ, because it's a nice all inclusive acronym. Does anyone actually say, I'm specifically don't identify as QUEER? Not adding the letters is not rejecting anyone and from my angle seems not only provocative to force the rather niche issue, but rather lacks understanding of the differences. I hope all the intersex people are bringing considered knowledge of issues around lesbian motherhood, the continuing spread of HIV within the gay male community and the lack of acknowledgement around bisexuality, because it makes up for most of us not really knowing what intersex EVEN IS!

I don't say that so much as a case for removing the T from LGBTQ, more that using it as a catch-all shorthand at all times has allowed efforts that only really help one or two of those to be passed off as a tickbox 'right, we've done something for all of them' exercise. I appreciate that people arguing for more letters are trying to push back against that, but I think it's comparatively a pretty ineffective way of doing it which focuses it more on 'god which letters now?' rather than on what the aims, needs and disadvantages of, say, asexuals or intersex people are.

It is on Pink News after all...

I got turfed off a copmpilation album because I said I didn't identify as queer. They wanted it to be called Queer Noise For Queer Something-or-other-fucked-if-I-can-remember-now and I pointed out that whilst the overlap between trans and queer was undeniable, trans was not a subset of queer. Well, that was me OUT.

Why don't we just have a guest sexuality each year? Like the way the G20 has guest representatives. They don't need to add Nigeria full time, but Nigeria can turn up now and again, which is fine for everyone. Or the way they give City of Culture to absolute dumps. See you 2019 Intersexers, the Hull of sexuality.

I doubt such nonsense is even being acknowledged by most gay people let alone the wider world.

It was all so much easier when you knew you were being purposely excluded, rather than accidentally marginalised.
