This popped up randomly on iTunes earlier:

Now, I know Liberty X went down the shitter after the first album, but seriously WHAT was this all about? It's just BIZARRE, a few years on you can't even say it bore ANY relevance to the pop scene before, when or after it emerged.

If I recall, on top of the sheer lunacy it actually ended up doing QUITE well :D

A forgotten gem of the 00's, or a well-flushed turd?

I remember when this came out, everyone was like WTF and it surprisingly did quite well.

I was in the car trying to hum their first ever single earlier today but I couldn't remember it, i thought it was really good though.

I wish their CD:UK performance was on YouTube. Rev Run was unavailable and Lauren Laverne introduced GUEST RAPPER "ALAN".

I don't mind the song, strange as it is. The video is the real killer though. The potato-baby at the end. WTF?

Consider yourselves lucky she's taken up residence over here. Now we have to put up with the CUNT on a regular basis as she seems to pop up constantly on TV shows. On the bright side though it did give us this little gem

Everytime I saw one the 'Song For Moopy' threads I would hum along to this :manson:

I remember it keeping "Electric" out of the top 10 (...along with two other songs)

Properly rubbish. Their good tunes were rather few and far between, but when they were good, they were really rather good.

I tragically always wanted a full version of "Never Give Up". For ages I thought my CD was DEFUNCT as it cut off after 1 minute.

There's quite a few now I think of it..:

"Being Nobody" (Richard X's finest hour)
"Just A Little" (NATCH - Vegas 03 BABY)
    "Holding On For You" :(
"Feel The Rush" despite being *klunk*tastic
Some remix of "X" but I can't remember which one - Solaris?
"Dirty Cash" was probably awful but I loved the original so it gets some points for that - as does "Got To Have Your Love"

I used to really fancy Kevin - FOR SHAME :D

And let's not forget the comedy gold that is "Watcha Doin' Tonight" - a genuine GYM staple for me back in the day :D

    BRRRROOOM BRRRROOOM indeed.

I had a little revival of this recently, it's not as good as I remember. It I do find it strangely uplifting.

I like it, but it's not even my favourite single beginning with "Song 4..." of the 21st Century.

Rubbish, but I did love Liberty X for a brief period. 'Saturday' was my terrible album track of choice. 'Wanting You Tonight' was great too.

'Just A Little' is genuinely brilliant.

Holding on for You is MARVELLOUS

I do think Being Nobody was entirely pointless though.

Holding On For You is very pretty. I prefer the single version to the chuggy old album version though.

Oh the single version is EVERYTHING.

    "I'm on my own
    Feeling blue
    *music drops out*
    MILES FROM HOOOOOME" :(

    Disney-tastic.

I still think their debut single is properly good, albeit dated. I love the call and answer style from the girls to the boys

The b-side to "Just a Little", "Breathe" was good too (EDIT, actually listening now, it's just very ten years ago. Amazing how the last time I listened to this it sounded so fresh and good)

They are reforming, after being inspired by Steps' success.

How many of those songs do the guys actually sing on? I just gave Ain't Nobody a spin... it's pretty funny to see them miming along in the video when they have NO LINES.

They were a bit like Steps that way. Just have the men provide the backing vox for the chorus while Kelli whined over them all... I'm sure the men might have had a few lines in the very early songs, not that I can remember them or hear them in my head at all.

Yeah the men had a few lines in Thinkin' It Over and Doin' It.

After that Kelli was more or less lead vocalist.

I saw this on TV the other day and was going to start a thread on it, but lo and behold we already have one.

Still a most RIDICULOUS turn of events for Liberty X. I like to believe that this influenced Madonna to become a guest artist on her own lead single a few years later.

This popped up on my daily mix a few weeks back (and I haven’t been able to get it out my head).

Annoyingly it seems to cut out on Spotify for a second but thankfully it doesn’t cut the ad libs at the end :disco:
