His vocal was decent enough, bar some points where he had to switch into falsetto. It was just a really bad song choice for the finale.

But it WASN'T poor vocally, it was just unremarkable. He wasn't missing notes or anything.

At points I felt he was singing a different tune.

But perhaps that was on purpose? There was also little power in his voice.

I don't know what most of you bitches were hearing but Kelly sounded good during about 20% of that 'perf' :zombie:

Leona gave a great vocal, but GOD how inappropriate was that song for the occasion? Talk about BUZZKILL.

....Although her mournfully singingt "I will fade away" in the context of her recent career was quite APT :disco:

I was at my former work's Christmas night out so I missed the show. On paper I am disappointed that Amelia went but on round one she was AVERAGE. She looked like a star but she absolutely did not sound like one on that performance and I kind of think that she was the type of contestant where it really mattered that she nailed a performance as she hasn't built up a fanbase like Marcus or Little Mix.

    Anyway round one:

    Little Mix - 7
    Marcus -5
    Amelia - 5

I am just getting on to round 2 now but I guess the vote freeze and going on LAST actually hindered Amelia rather than helping her.

In fairness to Amelia her exit was very gracious. She knew it was coming, and I liked how she acknowledged that by looking over to Marcus and mouthing "It's you".

It made me want to die, IN A GOOD WAY. Unlike the FORT NOX supergroup of JLS and 1D

    Duets:

Kelly and Amelia - Not quite Alexandra and Beyonce but fucking hell that was one of the better duets on the show.
Tulisa feat. Little Mix - It was a bit like Tulisa stole all the lines but I guess she never got a spot on the show so had to show off her VOX.
Gary and Marcus - It was good but a bit UNDERWHELMING.

Overall it was Little Mix's night (even though I don't think ANYONE was particularly outstanding during their solo performance) but I can only imagine that the first performance killed any momentum Amelia had going in to the show.

In other news, casn we vote Michael Buble, JLS and One Direction off this show FOR GOOD? (Leona can be wheeled out EVERY year if she sings like THAT :disco: )

    OMG LITTLE MIX :disco:

Marcus was as dreary, and shite as we all thought he was going to be. Vocally I just find him an utter BORE. He's a fine performer but tonight showcased just what a DULL performer...I don't think ANYONE would pay to see him in concert, or buy any of his music. Joe McElderry Pt.2

I wonder if perhaps it might be in Marcus' best interests not to win tomorrow? With less pressure on him, he might actually be able to find a musical direction that works for him. I can totally see him being another Joe if he wins.

Rufus Hound (of all people) said exactly that on Xtra Factor tonight. He said that Little Mix have a very clear sound and direction, whereas Marcus and Amelia would benefit from some time off to find their sound, without having the pressure of releasing an album to a certain deadline.

I absolutely agree with Rufus Hound on that point, both Marcus and Amelia need to go away for a year and find some kind of direction that'll work for them, which I think them not winning will help them allow.

I just don't think they know how to market male X Factor winners at all

I did feel sorry for Amelia. She wanted to go for the money note during ANOM but couldn't with the laryngitis :(

After last night, I hear Amelia's taken out a VOCAL IVA.

I'll be amazed if she gets a deal out of this. Less marketable than Stacey Solomon.

I never understood this "You're a ready-made pop star" line

She looks like Pixie Lott after she got raped on a council estate every day for nine years and then took up a 50-a-day fag habit!

She's also still so young that she's not really grown into her body yet. She's still got a bit of puppy fat, as is completely normal, but it does make her look uncomfortable in some of the outfits they dressed her in. She looked like a bit of a honey monster next to Kelly during the duet.

I thought exactly that! The show was on such a high then along comes Leona and her self-harm anthem! :disco:!!!!

It was absolutely brilliant though. When's the Hurt EP out, 'cos I couldn't find it anywhere?

Just catching up after last night because I really can't remember much of it at all… :D

I love LM's first performance, you've got that shitty rap thinking "Bloody hell where the fuck is this going to go?" and then Perrie brings it with "Sometimes I feel like putting my hands in the air" and you're just totally thinking "God. This gonna be amazing!"

I'm not totally struck on the massive stage though, it looks very X Factor Season 1. They should have recreated the studio version but on a much grander scale.

Marcus was shit the first time, boring the second.
Amelia was shit the first time, good the second.

I was thinking that their duet partners should have been Girls Aloud, it would have been massive for the show to have them "reform" for that night.

I youtubed Leona earlier. I'm not really feeling it yet, although I need to let go of my love of the Johnny Cash version a little for that to happen.

Is there an iTunes effect for the whole show yet?
