He was CUSU President so it might not have been anything personal.

Indeed, so in some respects this will be a poisoned chalice for the Tories (hopefully), especially with the EU referendum coming up. And as for change of leader, well Cameron is still perceived to be more popular than the rest of the party, something which I doubt any other potential leader would have (except possibly May).

The good people of Thanet may have rejected Farage as their MP but somehow now have a council with a UKIP majority.

I'd have thought Boris would be more popular that the party. Especially with swing voters.

I still don't understand what a UKIP councillor does or is meant to achieve.

NUS presidents always make enemies. He probably just disagreed with her on something and she took it as a sign that he was THE DEVIL REINCARNATE, as it always goes with student politics.

Michael Gove being the new Justice secretary will at least prevent mass suicides throughout the teaching profession, as there were rumours of him returning to education.

And prevent suicides in prisons - I assume he's unlikely to continue the absurd policiy of banning books.

(Although repealing the Human Rights Act isn't helpful)

To be fair, not quite. He was banning prisoners from receiving books from the outside due to (seemingly weak) security concerns. They could still order books via libraries.

    He's still a funt.

She's certainly not popular, but if she became PM through succession rather than election I could see her getting a 'well I don't LIKE her but you've got to ADMIRE HER STEEL'-type following.

And I think I'd probably rather her any day over Boris fucking Johnson.

I keep going into yelps of horror every couple of hours whenever I remember things the Conservatives put in their manifesto. Two hours ago it was remembering the commitment to abolish the Human Rights Act. Now it's remembering scrapping Housing Benefit and JSA for under 25s.

    Status quo indeed.

Aside from the Tories, every single major political party in the UK is currently led by a woman.

I wonder if their will be any more after the leadership elections. I know for the Lib Dems that's not an option, but Labour surely have a reasonable chance, as do UKIP if Farage chooses to die young.

I am starting five years of making my new MPs life a misery. He's v. keen on Twitter, unlike our previous luddite. Annoyingly thus far he's been nothing but spot on, including being anti-fox hunting.

Baroness Grey-Thompson of Eaglescliffe is a more famous peer but has far less influence as a cross bencher.

He also assume Stephen Twigg is LOVELY because of the Portillo clip and he's AN EARLY OUT GAY MP. He may well be a proper cunt.
