More on the news that UKIP's candidate for Mayor of London, Lawrence Webb, was mistakenly listed on the ballot paper as Fresh Choice for London. It should have read "UKIP: A Fresh Choice for London". According to a New Statesman blog, a "furious" Nigel Farage has admitted that the fault was at UKIP's end - they forgot to put their party name on the nomination paper. Bwa ha ha
Boris Johnson appears to be slaughtering Ken. Although I can't be sure. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-17961960
Green second preferences will go to Ken SURELY. And HOPEFULLY Benita as well as she is basically New Labour. Lib Dem could go either way I guess...
There's only 3% between them at the moment, and early word is that if it goes to second preference it will narrow even further, so it's not as certain that Boris will win it as much as it was this morning (at least according to a speaker just now on Sky News).
I wouldn't get your hopes up. It's likely to be much closer than we all thought, but the betting markets still have boris at 1.15, Ken at 9.0.
Four constituencies left to declare now. ALMOST certainly a Boris win. Results expected in about half an hour.
They forgot to scan one or two boxes... Ken's not gonna win anyway, all the polls have predicted Boris. They always know ahead of time. At the moment it's: Boris Johnson: 913,154 Ken Livingstone: 822,835 Jenny Jones: 94,183 Brian Paddick: 85,964
The journos are starting to get quite pissed off, they want to go home after hours and hours of election coverage!
I know the numbers are small but as a Green voter I'm genuinely excited that they seem to be gaining a bit of the liberal vote...
I take it they've already made a NOTE of second preference votes, so they don't have to count them all again - it seems it would be the sort of thing they'd forget to do in Brent and Harrow!
