These are my favorite bubblegum songs!

    10. Evelyn - Funny Bunny Boy

I'd love to be a bunny so why not like this song. It's a yearning melody with a catchy groove. Can I be your bunny? No?

    9. Tiggy - Ring-a-ling

Yes, this is catchy as well. It was a hit in Denmark as most the songs on my list, as most of them are from Denmark. It seems that Denmark has specialised in this kind of music. What does it tell of a country? Anyway Tiggy had a medieval princess thing going on. Who doesn't love a medieval princess?!

    8. S.O.A.P. - Romeo & Juliet

These two sisters were destined to be a worldwide success, but something went wrong. Weren't they original enough? Weren't they the only bubblegum artists in the whole world?? I guess we'll just have to enjoy the album they made. And this the bubbliest, and best, song of the whole album!

    7. Coconut Girl – Fly Away

With coconuts like those, a girl means business. This girl released a couple of singles and an album in Finland but failed to bother any charts even in Finland. Her legend lives forever, though, in Coconut Land.

    6. Günther and the Sunshine Girls – Ding Dong Song

The sole male representative on the list oozes sex and lust. Just listen and give in. Ooooohhhh...

    5. Hit’n’Hide – Space Invaders

After Aqua there were dozens of clones but Hit'n'hide really stood out! Freaky space stuff? I'm in!

    4. Me & My – Baby Boy

Before Aqua there were Me & My, a feline sister duo that conquered the world for a brief moment in time. We all know the hit so here's my favorite (the follow-up) instead!

    3. Toy-Box – Tarzan & Jane

Yes, it's getting even more bizarre, as this is, as the name suggests, a song about Tarzan and Jane. However, as a boa jumps at it's it's prey, you're grabbed. It's nice, instant and catchy!

    2. Aqua – Barbie Girl

I would be a fool to leave one of the greatest bubblegum songs ever out of the list. I still listen to this song regularly. The sarcasm only adds to it! Love love love this song forever!

    1. Daze - Superhero

This is a song that reflects the whole 90's for me. Balls out, catchy, crazy, happy! This song still makes me wanna dye my hair blue! And that's saying a lot in 2016!

Most of the bubblegum artists made shit albums if any at all, but Daze's Super Heroes and Toy Box's FanTastic are absolutely great!

I had Hit'n'Hide's (how many 's can one have in a word) album, but true love never stood out. Now I looked it up and it's lovely! At the time I loved World Of Dreams, Book Of Love and of course Space invaders. Maybe True Love was too MATURE!

The entire auditorium recognised Barbie Girl when the professor played it for a lecture on gender. Aqua's legacy lives on

They thought the mix was too fast and so didn't put it on the album

Some of it being the operative phrase!

Having said that, the good bits are really good. "Would You Believe" is the clear standout and definitely worthy of their 90s output.

A Bubblegum thread wouldn't be complete without the inclusion of SCOOBY DOOBY BOY.

I'm SHOCKED that Cometz, Bambee, and Crispy are considered inferior to Tiggy.

I actually just decided to dig out S.O.A.P.'s 'Soap is in the Air' yesterday. I mean I have no idea where the silly idea even came from because the last time I heard this song must have been back in 2000 on MTV. Oh brain.

SOAP did have a second album - think it's on spotify.

The debut was oddly good. Live Forever remains amazing.
