Thanks. The stuff from the first album is quite different to Pretty Scary Silver Fairy - darker in sound and generally less poppy, isn't it?

My copy of PSSF arrived today, and it's rather pleasing, even if there are only a couple of songs that are new to me. The whole thing sits very nicely together - not a duff track on there. Definitely a case of short but sweet.

Sending Naive (16) and Get Physical to gmail now.

EDIT: Sent I'm Gonna Stay After Summer. Got confused with what had already been posted.

The first album is a lot more serious sounding, the second is fabulous poptastic fun

    Love both directions though

Finally got around to listening to Pretty Scary Silver Fairy today, after HEAVY Samantha rotation in my car.

Initally nonplussed with the first 2 tracks, but it's so far so good since Will You Remember Me Tomorrow. Stay until Summer is lovely, I do see the Millionaire parallels someone mentioned.

    PLEASING

Oooh I just discovered her yesterday, shes rather good, not quite up with Bertine and Robyn, but much better than a slap in the face - I'm loving Robot Song and Samantha, found Lifetime Guarantee and WYRMT? on limewire, but don't like them quite as much

Does some lovely person fancy gmailing

    Stay After Summer
    Naive
    Seek I'll Hide

and anything else decent, I will actually love you forever!

Not having the internet for the past 2 years annoys me sometimes, its happened so much recently that I've only just discovered something I really should have been listening to 6 months ago! I feel out of the loop

If there are any other random Scandi-electro-pop females that have cropped up over the last year that are half decent, feel free to let me know!

Sending Stay After Summer and Naive to the gbox now, as well as Chameleon, which I have only recently realised is bloody wonderful. Who knows how long they'll be there for though.

You may be aware of these, but anyway:

As far as other female electropop types, I'd recommend Firefox AK very highly. Madame Madame is particularly good.

Not a female singer as such, but Bertine's producer Fred Ball's Pleasure project has thrown up two amazing songs very much of that sound, Out of Love and Uptown.

    Out of Love video:

I started a very popular thread on Emmon in this very forum. Her album The Art & The Evil isn't bad.

Pretty Scary Silver Fairy is now down to a ridiculously cheap €4.95 on CDON for anyone who has not yet indulged.

Surely she is due a new album sometime this year?

I hoped she'd try to enter the ESC but I actually think she's too high profile for that after PSSF. The Melodi Grand Prix has elevated its profile but it's still far away from MF standards in Sweden.

I must go and price the first album on cdon as I loved the second muchly, even though she's still in Bertine's shadow for me.

I don't think she hits the peaks of Bertine, but personally I think PSSF is more consistent than any Bertine album.

I finally got around to buying both her albums. I've had 'PSSF' for a while now but thought as it was only 3.95 Euros on cdon.com now that it was only fair that I got it. 'Chameleon' was only 8.95 Euros so I had to take it too.

And for good measure I added Lykke Li to my basket...oh and The Sounds too. I really ought to reign myself in.

I've no idea, but the Robyn connection and the one song of hers up on Youtube was enough to convince me. 'Q' were also glowing in their praise of her.

Just sent Lykke Li's Little bit YKW. I didn't love it instantly - but it's definitely a grower.

I'm really really enjoying this album lately, but it annoys me how the first two tracks are by far the weakest. Silver Fairy is like a 45 second intro stretched out WAY beyond its means and Seek I'll Hide is a bit meh.

From Will You Remember Me Tomorrow onwards though it's pretty much solid gold.

Well unfortunately you're not going to be getting any decent news from me, she's just took up a radio job back in Norway, she said that she felt going back to a '9-5' job allowed her to take a break from the business. She said she's going to be looking into hiring some writers soon but she's got no idea when or even if the third album will even be released.

    oh :(

I assumed the last album was pretty successful. Or at least successful enough for her to carry on with the business.

Well when I saw CDOn flogging the album for about €3.95 a while back I thought I may have been a bit misinformed.

    Panic SLIGHTLY averted!

    Hi everybody, everywhere.
    You patient people, you.

    Ok. Two things are happening.
Hopefully soon, a new single is gonna be released. It's called Fridays. Or.. you make me wanna cry on fridays.. You choose. It doesn't matter really. And I have to warn you, it's a bit different then my previous stuff. More organic. But this is one of thoose songs that just popped down in my head, and it's a great song, and it just had to be allowed to be the best it could be. So this doesn't mean that my sound is completely different now. The song is coming soon to a computer near you. Maybe a month or something.

...and the other thing: I'm working with this great great great producer, that by some lucky chance moved to Trondheim about two years ago. I have to be a bit more mysterious about this.. This is a side-project, and were making an album. It's a lot more to the left then PSSF, but still pop-music. But I think you can handle it. It's gonna get dark..

Winter is coming. (quote: A song of Ice and Fire: A game of thrones)

    Kisses from
    Margaret
