Am I allowed to start one of these? Apologies to Madison if this is against the rules and I am bad.

Oh this is a 12 and no mistake... one of the best entries of the 90s! And the best Croatian entry ever, whatever the Danijela lobby of loons say!

I think it's the first example of what I'd call a Balkan Schlager...

I rate this song a 12, but I had to knock points off for cheating.

I can never quite decide whether this or Gigliola Cinquetti - Non Ho L'età is my favourite Eurovision entry of all time, both are pretty much LEVEL PEGGING by me.

Anyway, I feel in my heart this is an astonishingly wonderful Eurovision song, much better than that guff from Selma and Charlotte, DORIS WAS ROBBED. Even though the performance is not that exciting she is a very good performer and absolutely nails the vocal. I would like this to be an entry nowdays, I imagine the performance would involve a ridiculously overblown recreation of the nativity story or something similarly biblical.

    LOVE IT

Croatia should get their act together and stop sending old men that rap, and get Doris back and ASAP please fanks.

What a magnificent song and performance.

    Doris and Croatia were robbed.

How old must Doris be by now... I mean her first entry was in 86, and she wasn't THAT young then?

I FINALLY know what this song is, after hearing it on two consecutive Swedish Moopmeets and showing up my lack of knowledge to the disgust of everybody around me. :(

She was quite naughty for including the male choir wailing on tape. I still don't quit get it why because 4 male backing singers could've easily covered that.

Anyways, I always forget how strong 1999 was song-wise, 'All Out Of Luck', 'Maria Magdalena', 'Reise Nach Jerusalem' and 'Thane Erotas' are all outstanding in my book and there's a healthy chunk of non-dross behind them.

I love Cyprus from 1999 too, she really was completely robbed that lady.

And I use appropriate punishments, unlike the EBU's fake punishment for Croatia.

I'm still amazed no-one mentioned the backing track during rehearsals.

Surely someone would've mentioned 'Excuse me, but where are your backing singers?'

Unless, of course, they thought they were doing a UK '84. But wasn't that against the rules by this time?

The performance could really have benefited from a disco re-enactment of the crucifixion though.

Well it's not like the JEWS would have had to give a shit!

Although of course it would have been intensely provocative for most of the other nations taking part :disco:

:D This made me laugh WAY more than it probably should. Does seem like a good idea though. :disco: Probably better if it were in Birmingham or Stockholm though.
