I gave this floppy disk another listen today and I'm not sure if it was the nostalgia talking, but I was genuinely enjoying mos of the tracks.

Her voice is very absent from the album as a whole and there's a very tacky quality to the whole thing. Maybe it's because Mariah was at her sluttiest in 2000/2001. Or maybe it's because of all the silly covers. Or maybe it's the kitschy giggles, 80s percussion and ridiculous "sugar daddy" references.

Despite it all, Loverboy is still a Fab-Fag track. Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, I Didn't Mean to Turn You On, Never Too Far and Don't Stop are all guilty pleasures for me. So bad they're good. If We, Lead the Way, Twister, Want You, All My Life are just bad.

    Reflections remains a great ballad.

I guess the big question is... Is Glitter still as bad now as it was back in 2001?

I always liked the album. It's better than Charmbracelet.

I love this album for so many reasons. I love her fragile voice, it makes most songs sound a bit melancholic. The ballads are especially amazing (I know they're not that appreciated among the lambs). It also reminds me of my Erasmus year in Paris. :disco:

I'll never forget the time I put Don't Stop (Funkin' 4 Jamaica) in my Mariah Top 10 upon arrival here and PCGMc (?) laughed at me. Rock bottom.

I've got MAD LOVE for this album though :disco:

What happened to PGMC and also ABMB?

I liked her. Did they die in some tragic lesbian abbreviation accident? All very sad

'Didn't Mean To Turn You On' I have a massive soft spot for. I'd say 'Last Night...' as well, but from memory it goes for about an HOUR

you're not alone KC, I thought I was Moopy's biggest CB supporter :disco:

Glitter is alright but it could have done with some editing. I cannot muster Last Night... and Didn't Mean To Turn You On because they are awfully long :zombie: plus the singles  (bar Loverboy obvs)

Who on Earth thought Don't Stop would have reversed the album's misfortunes is BEYOND ME! Some nice radio edits for LTADJSML and DMTTYO would have made some EXCELLENT singles and perhaps throw in If We (which is the best track on it for me :disco: ), Reflections and Lead The Way for queens who like the ballads in their AC radio station of choice.

Whilst it could've been better, this album never stood a chance no matter what they through at it single-wise. It was a car crash from the start.

also how could we forget Mottola in this era? It highlighted what a CUNT he was

Stealing the original Loverboy sample and giving it to JLO :grr: then ordering writers/producers to wheel out a song similar to If We (I'm Real Remix) and getting Ja Rule to feature in it even though he already featured in the Mariah song!

and we all know who won the battle in the end, sad days indeed :(

I'm always referencing this album when talking about a particular downfall in my life. It's just so....fitting.

This really needs to get on Spotify so I can reminisce

Loverboy remains a MOMENT and seeing her perform it live a few years back wasn’t certainly something I’ll never forget :disco:
