This album is such a drag- not necessarily as dull as Charmbracelet but probably just more of a letdown after over a year of waiting for this mediocre clutch of tracks (save for two or three).

    My initial ratings:

    05 Cry.
    03 Faded
    06 Dedicated
    10 #Beautiful
    07 Thirsty
07 Make It Look Good (this one's giving me 2003 throwback vibes, in a good way)
    03 You're Mine (Eternal)
08 You Don't Know What to Do
    06 Supernatural
09 Meteorite (this is screaming for some :disco: 10 minute remixes)
    06 Camouflage
    06 Money
08 One More Try (the original is one of my all time favorites, this is a nice cover but nothing on the original)
    04 Heavenly

I copied POP's listing but where is Camouflage?

Anyway it's still my favourite album since Butterfly, but honestly that's not a big a benchmark as it sounds. Mostly I'm shocked how much Thirsty has grown on me...

what I Can gather from that review is that Donatella's use of adjectives is very limited and she just wants to DANCE! :disco:

I took a week off from this album when the weather turned but now summer is back on I'm all over it again. I would only cut Money. I actually really like You're Mine now, although a single it is not.

Donatella is just fabulous. I like Versace x Mariah so much more than Versace x Gaga.

Cry, Dedicated, Beautiful, YDKWTD and Meteorite still getting a lot of usage. The rest, various shades of not at all, which is quite the drop off as I was quite excited about it all for a brief little moment at the time.

I imagine Donatella's 'review' was written in much the same way OK! magazine would call up Kerry Katona and write down her paragraphs for her, but the thought of that orange-spraypainted skull and a wig on the dancefloor is fab.

The one I keep going back to is Supernatural - the key change near the end, followed by Mariah joining in with dembabs really gets to me.

    MAKE me GO!
    On and on and on...

They really need to ship her over here for an X Factor duet. It won't matter if she's stiffer than a corpse as long as George is on stage with her

Maybe it's the angle but her face looks WEIRD there.

Is this album still on the Billboard Top 200?

It was #70 on last week's Billboard 200 - in its fifth week on the chart. So it's hanging in there but it probably only takes 4k to chart at #70 these days.

The album's not done yet!!!!!!! Mariah's left a new voicemail on her website with YDKWTD in the background.

So, have we forgotten about this already?

I've given the album some spins lately and came to appreciate some of the songs. 'Cry' remains my favourite of the album, but I've really come to love 'The art of letting go' especially thinking of her narrating some kind of story about her marriage struggles with this song and it actually really touched me.
Another two songs I can say I've come to like more are 'Camouflage' and 'Heavenly'. Especially the second one with the gospel choir and everything.
So, all in all, I think I feel sorry for the reception it got overall. Quite a mishandled campaign overall in the end. It deserved better things (sales is what I mean).

    What did I think?

    *leans forward*

    STELLAR...

    *silence from the audience*

Pity she didn't hurry the end of her marriage to promote this more effectively than what actually passed for a campaign. Cry and The Art of Letting Go are powerful bookends following the trend with personal lyrics, what I think people are calling 'theatrical moments' and my own personal go-to's, with YDKWTD displaying the confidence she deserves to have.
