Words CANNOT express how much I LOVE this song. My favourite Girls Aloud song EVER. The fact it was ONLY a B-side on the fucking 7 inch of The Loving Kind is the crime of the CENTURY. I mean, they put Fix Me Up on the album! :manson:

I was ecstatic this won the fan vote for the Bonus CD last month. Just amazing. :disco:

Kimberley FINALLY gets her moment to SHINE...

Amazing. The Nicola version is just as good too.

This should really be a poll between the crumby Kimba spitting crackers crumbs version (she sounds like a frayed radio cable) and the eloquent and statuesque Nicola version (who does admittedly take over on the main version). My goodness they just don't compare. Nicola is just so much more expressively detached.

    NO NO NO!

I do LOVE Nicola's version, but Kimberley's vocals make the song for me. Her phrases are better. I wonder if they were the only two to record this song, it seems strange that Kimberley gets it ALL apart from a few lines of Nicola.

That's not unusual though. Since What Will The Neighbours Say solo tracks have been on each album

I knew the girls were each given a copy of their 'solo' versions of WWTNS, but had no idea the same was done for subsequent albums.

I'd love to hear a solo Kimba version of Here We Go :disco:

    SECOND HANGOVER TODAY

Predictably the pissed evening in has abruptly turned a corner from jolly leg-kicking to getting maudlin over lost loves thanks to EVIL NICOLA AND KIMBERLEY

    :( if obviously :disco::disco::disco:

Have I not even commented on what is one of the GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME? FOR SHAME!

    Second hang over today
Surfing channels till I bleach out the pain
    Static on the radïo
Burn the toast and leave the tea to turn cold

I know we've all said it before but HOW THE FUCK did anyone think a) it wasn't good enough for "Out Of Control", b) "Fix Me Up" was a better idea when "Memory Of You" and "Untouchable" were the perfect pair and c) remember that rumour that this was going to be on the final tour and then it wasn't? :(

God I still miss them so much :(

This is just amazing and its lustre hasn't dimmed ONE BIT since I was at an after party in Vauxhall and heard it for the FIRST TIME when some queen IN THE KNOW popped it on :disco:

I like both versions and couldn't really pick a favourite.

I've dived head long into a Girls Aloud FRENZY after this thread popped up, reading old reviews of their albums (Old Alexis in the Guardian being spot on throughout- especially when he calls out the snobbery that means they don't get the credit they deserve and says if you don't like Girls Aloud then you're someone who probably doesn't like The Beatles and you're an idiot) and currently on "Chemistry". And it's proving to be JUST THE TICKET :disco:

I remember buying that picture disc for this song. The disc was £1.99. The postage was £2.79. Broken Britain.

True. Now it would be Record Store Day only and £12.

I wonder if they'll release the albums on vinyl, thinking about it.

I think I'd probably invest for no reason at all...

I've got the Spotify Studio/B-sides/Live compilation on shuffle and am doing the same. The 'Out Of Control' review is a bit JARRING though, because it isn't Petridis but someone else who while giving it a three star review, seems to completely miss the points Petridis had been making in all his reviews until then.

I wish I'd bought that collection. I can't FATHOM why I didn't at the time and it irks me immensely now it's HUNDREDS OF POUNDS :(

Yes, I hated that review for precisely that reason. But it's actually a SO "Guardian review" it hurts...

It was released physically? I had no idea.

Is their singles box set worth anything?

Yup! Goes for over £100 on discogs. I'm sure it would be worth more except they reissued it and gave a karaoke DVD inside the later editions, which makes that more worthwhile and makes the whole thing less rare...

I've got the metal box set in the loft. The mixes really were of no interest but I remember it being flogged off dirt cheap a while after it came out which is where I got it.

Indeed. For £20 or so annoyingly. I think that may be when they threw the karaoke DVD in too, which is now the rarer version...

I own the box set, I'm not THAT bothered about the karaoke DVD and also I'm not arsed about spending £££ on anything- you'd be far better off flogging it online and making some real cash

It's the ultimate GA box set thing that Id love to get my hands on :disco:

    Ooh, what's that?

I doubt I'll flog this off to be honest, it doesn't seem worth the bother. My AUSTRIAN EX is REALLY into doing this though and spends half the weekend choosing/photographing/posting things and I think that put me RIGHT OFF. I'm more likely to give things to my sister to sell for 50p at a boot fair when I want to declutter :D

I just assumed it was nothing more than a Spotify compilation when I discovered it there. I had no idea it had a proper physical release.

I remember it the time and think I thought "I have all those bsides in the box set, I don't REALLY need it", presuming it would soon enough be flogged off cheap.

The live CD, isn't it? That and obviously the bsides set all on CD is not anywhere else, though the bsides individually are...

I know they have released at least one live cd before, but I have no idea if this was a new show or not.

If the b sides are all available elsewhere then that's good enough for me.

    "Tangled Up Live" wasn't, I don't think. I can't massively remember....

Yeah, everything elsewhere is why I didn't bother, I think, but YOU KNOW ME :D

If I'm honest I think Memory of You is a little overrated. It's certainly a good song but people putting it even in their top 20 GA songs is amazing to me. It's all subjective though I guess.

The other four girls must have spat their coffee out when they were told that Kimberley had lead vocals
