Having just watched the sequel for the first time and not liking it at all, a thread for the original which I love to extreme amounts as it has big 6th form memories attached to it for starters.

    Other very good things:

    1. Michael Caine camping it up ('He's with me!' *OTT wink*)
    2. William Shatner
    3. The soundtrack :D
    4. Gracie being transformed
    5. Benjamin Bratt looking pretty
    6. The girls going clubbing

VERY good chick flick. I remember reading and interview with Sandra Bullock saying the only film she thought was likely to get her acting nods was Miss Congeniality 2. The sequel, whilst not as good, isn't as bad as was made out. I LOVE the Dolly cameo. :D

surprisingly good fun. would love to see this again

Sandra Bullock always appears in dead films with cheesy concepts that look dreadful in theory and in the trailers, but when you watch them they're always miles better than you expect... I think it's largely due to the fact that she could wear a paper bag and still be utterly watchable

Funky, have you not seen Hope Floats or Forces of Nature? If not, don't.

Finally got round to watching this last night

Was told I would love it but there were very few laughs and it was just a bit shite to be frank

    Dissapointing

Urgh, can we not have some quality control for so-called "classic" movies?

Well sorry but since I don't consider it to a classic film, it's getting a 0 from me.

No, it gets a 0 from me. Besides, I said at BEST. More likely a 2.

Quit messing with the marks Ellie! :Oi:

Edward if this forum were to exist solely to talk about movies which YOU consider classics then you'd most likely be talking to yourself a lot. God forbid the rest of Moopy like a movie that's so obviously BELOW you

In THAT case, I fully expect you to go through the full list of films in the sticky thread and rate everything you've seen, because there's a damn sight less worthy films than this. MEAN GIRLS for one.

Listen, I can accept that Jerry Maguire, a film not necessarily to my taste can be considered a classic but Miss (fucking) Congeniality? What the fuck?!

I have not seen Mean Girls nor do I wish to. The only Lindsay Lohan flick I have seen (and accidentally at that) is the shitty remake of Freaky Friday.

Unfortunately I caught Drop Dead Gorgeous on TV (only because of Kirstie Alley) and it was dire beyond belief.

Geezalou, who comes up with these choices?!

Freaky Friday remake is FANTASTIC  There are no rules over what can be included here. Anything over a year old, and I think the Top 10 from the previous year’s Moopy Film polls get automatically carried over, which I still need to do.

This is the same argument as we have in the classic albums and songs forum. Both forums should just be renamed nostalgia to circumvent all the MOANING.

Anyway this was quite funny in an average sort of way. Sandra Bullock is always so much better than the films she is in.

This used to be my favorite film. :shy:

I guess time has tainted it slightly, but it's still MARVELOUS.
