I've just been fingering Daisy Jones in Waterstones. £12.99 for a signed copy.

 

I mean we don't HAVE to go for that one. I only spent 5 minutes in Waterstones and this one seemed quite 'Moopy' in theme. I think it seems to be in the style of one of those documentaries - and is laid out a bit like a script. It's only just out so if we do decide to go for it, it might be better when it's been out for a while and is cheaper...

my library only has it as audiobook. so exciting, I haven't tried that since childhood

 

that's incredible. a new release here is at least £30

In fairness that's probably cheaper than most full price hardback, which are usually more like £20. But yes, books are cheaper here than most places generally, I believe.

I'm about a third of the way into this. I decided to go with the audiobook option and it actually works really well given the conversational / interview / 'rockumentary' style of it. Did they actually hire Stevie Nicks to do Daisy's voice?

So far it's lightweight froth but rather enjoyable. Think Fleetwood Mac True Hollywood Story meets A Star is Born but hey ho, it touches the zeitgeist I guess. But I do want to know what happens so in that sense it is unputdownable ....

 

oh i didn’t even think about the audiobook! that would have been fun.
