Coming out later this year starring Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfiefer, Ed Harris, Kristen Wigg and Domhall Gleeson.

Not much on the plot but we got a creepy poster for Mother's Day

I saw that poster yesterday and was struck by it - I doubt we'll be seeing any of them out in the wild!

Aronofsky's always worth some time - even when he gets it wrong (The Fountain...), it's interesting. Not keen on the casting of this but he does pull in the big guns.

I even loved The Fountain. Not too excited about the casting though.

Jennifer Lawrence is getting pretty close to Face Of Hate status for me but a new Aronofsky film that isn't Noah is always going to be exciting - and that poster!

I'd forgotten about Noah..! It was on Netflix for about 5 minutes and I always meant to give it try to see how bad it was.

Michelle giving Jennifer Lawrence those GLARES :disco: I hope she gives her HELL.

This looks like a return to Black Swan territory, and will probably be a lot more basic/straightforward than it makes out to be.

Beware exclusive reviews from film festivals - they're often way off the mark.

Having said that, I still cannot wait for this and am very hopeful it's going to be something special. I've tried to avoid all trailers/publicity so have only just found out that PFEIFFER is in this TOO :disco:

The trailer for this that was attached to IT was ridiculous :D I know it was meant to be some sort of throwback to the sensationalist trailers from the 80s but it just made the whole thing look like a farce.

    DEFINITELY

I'm not sure how many NOMS she has, but she has so earned that gong NONETHELESS

She should have won for Dangerous Liaisons. As should Glenn. Lord knows who was in charge of that campaign at the production company but I presume NOBODY

Do NOT get me started. She's magnificent in "Dangerous Liaisons", bested only by Glenn, as you say, but I can accept Foster as the winner. of "Best Actress" far easier, to be fair..

infinitely more horrifying than I imagined. I feel like I have endured a major trauma which may take weeks or perhaps years to recover from.

Just give J-Law the fucking Oscar already.

Okay but on the scale of 1 to Antichrist, how extreme of a movie are we talking here? Or is that aspect being overhyped?

MENTAL. It's a low 4 stars because it goes completely batshit crazy in the second half. I really really enjoyed the first half.

It's an overhyped BOREFEST. It all gets a bit VIOLENT towards the end but let's get this straight, nobody's CUTTING THEIR CLITS OFF or TUGGING BLOODY CUM SHOTS here.

If they sold the film as its TRUE FORM nobody would go see it!

I like how when I don't like a Christopher Nolan film it's because I apparently "don't get it" even though I do, but some people are mauling this and openly admitting to not getting it.

The criticisms I saw is that it's too obvious and heavy handed with the symbolism.

I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this - it's a complete load of nonsense and I loved every second

Every time I thought it was about to end or that it couldn't get more ludicrous it just piled more and more on

I loved it! It's not even remotely scary but I was hooked throughout. It was so over the top and the biblical references were a bit too obvious but I thought it was great fun. People in the audience (and my 30 friends) seemed to enjoy it too.
