That tracklist reads like Lana Del Rey fanfic right down to (y)Ayo. Usually I would assume that would mean it was made up by internet power bottoms, but Gaga is an internet power bottom so come through New York country queen.

The official Jo tracklist has been released. From my initial judgements of a book by its cover, Sinner's Prayer has a distinct "title created by internet poster" vibe and Grigio Girls is the greatest Lifetime movie yet about a close-knit group of suburban moms... with a secret.

    1. “Diamond Heart”
    2. “A-YO”
    3. “Joanne”
    4. “John Wayne”
    5. “Dancin’ in Circles”
    6. “Perfect Illusion”
    7. “Million Reasons”
    8. “Sinner’s Prayer”
    9. “Come to Mama”
    10. “Hey Girl (feat. Florence Welch, 72)”
    11. “Angel Down”
    12. “Grigio Girls”
    13. “Just Another Day”
    14. “Angel Down (Work Tape)”

Most coherent album she's ever done? For someone who basically sings the same song (raah, raah, baah, baah, black sheep, etc), I can't wait to hear this and pretend it's the unreleased Amelia Lilly opus to get myself through it.

I have been really intrigued to investigate who this Amelia Lily person is after having read her name so many times in the Gaga related threads recently.

Looking at the tracklist, I still think there should be some promising strong moments on there. Hopefully she will chuck out another track soon

Maybe she'll complete the impersonation of good old dead eye dyke and wear black contacts for the next indie vid.

Further informations on the album from a reliable person who was at the private listening party:

    What about Million Reasons?
The song Million Reasons is a song about her fans. It's really inspiring and moving.

    What about Come To Mama?
Come To Mama probably received the strongest reaction. It's very tongue-in-cheek with lyrics like "come to mama, i'll put on your pajamas, come to mama, i want no more drama" :disco: It's probably the most rock'n'roll sounding track on the album and the most fun one.

    What about John Wayne?
If you like You & I, you will like John Wayne. Big rock singalong tea. (YAAAS!!!)

Could you rank your favourite songs and the possible singles?
My favorites are Ayo, Angel Down, Diamond Heart, Dancing In Circles, Sinner's Prayer.
I feel like there are no real duds on this album, but I would need more listens to really rate each song.
IMO Ayo, Diamond Heart and Angel Down are definitely going to be singles...

Did she really say that Perfect Illusion isnt an indication of what this album may sound?
    Yes and no.
The album is more organic sounding than Perfect Illusion. More real instruments and less production, more stripped down moments, guitars, strings, piano, sax, etc.

    What about the vocals?
She doesn't do the rock vocal from Perfect Illusion and Dope on all songs. It's mostly in the ones with a stronger rock influence.
On the majority of her album, her voice sounds soothing. Even though there are some tougher tracks like PI, this album is more about showing Gaga's vulnerable side. And the vocals reflect that.

So no Dope/TIHTY vocals on all songs?
No. There's some when she's rocking out, but most of the album is actually in a new singing style that sort of reminds me of Norah Jones: Gaga's vocals reminded me of "Come Away With Me" and "Sunrise" on many songs.

    What about A-YO?
Ayo is going to be a great song to perform live. It has that group energy like "We Will Rock You".

Are there any pure piano ballads?
Angel Down (Work Tape) is piano and acoustic guitar only.
Angel Down doesn't sound like Dope. Lyrics: "I was just another angel down in a vacant paradise."

I haven't heard anyone describe Sinners Prayer yet - can you briefly describe how it sounds if you don't mind?
If The Rolling Stones made a record inspired by Heavy Metal Lover, it would be Sinners Prayer. It sounds ****ing good. :disco:

What do you think about all the opinions that the album is "country-sounding"? Is it just one song or something more?
The country description is not correct. I would say it's soulful rock pop. It has the DNA of pop, but the added quality of real rock instrumentation, soulful vocals, jazzy simplicity and yes - even some country twang.
But it's silly to call it "country", despite it having some elements of it in certain songs.

    What about Diamond Heart?
Diamond Heart is a pop mid tempo love song. A very big tune. It's the beginning of the album, the moment of bliss and happiness she had while she was in love (:()and then as the album goes on to explore heartbreak, rage, death, and ultimately finding strength in your darkness again.

Anything sound similar or remind you of something Gaga has done before or is it all a new/fresh direction?
Most of the album feels very fresh, especially in contrast with her more electropop sounding music.
If you are a real fan who followed her deep album cuts and her pre-Lady Gaga days, it's still the Lady Gaga you know and love.

Apparently her aunt (Joanne) died in 1974. I thought it was something recent. She hardly knew her.

So it's soulful rock doowop jazz country pop? I'm glad that's finally been cleared up.

There's a cute but dim guy I know whose social media accounts are dedicated to serving as a Little Monster and he's always criticising people who don't like her decisions for not being real fans. Stan culture is weird and has seemingly developed into people following artists blindly in spite of themselves.
