That report spelled the title of her last album wrong (unless she sneaked out a washing-themed concept album when I wasn't looking) so I'm not sure how reliable it is
Washing machiiiiiine, washing machiiiiiine.
Anyway I'm very excited!
well it DID feature a song about a washing machine
An album all about Mrs Bartolozzi and her husband might NOT be a bad idea actually
Although I pray somebody will finally see the light in EMI and release a DVD with all of Kate's videos and TV performances - I think I would prefer that to a new record (as I think Aerial was a perfect send-off/final album).
Here we go AGAIN
So we can expect it in about 2024 then
Kate PJ AND fiona in one year? PLEASE ALLAH
I'd love to reply but I'm kinda disgusted that this is in the Divas forum. Hold on, we don't have a banshees forum anymore? Oh.
Believe it when I'm holding the little bugger in my own two hands and not a second before.
Been reading elsewhere that this is a GH/DVD package and that it is being overseen by the same people who did the surprisingly successful Bon Jovi package at the end of last year - I thought BJ (how apt) and Bush were were on different labels myself but...
Surely there's more chance of a Kate THORNTON album than this? GH aside
Now THIS I would be happy with. As Peeka says, I thought Aerial was such a nice final album, I can imagine her dancing around on the roof of her castle cackling at the birds
A GH is the only logical thing to come after that, and even better if it's a complete one, I mean 20 years later she's DUE, and a DVD? SUPER
Yeah, a DVD with cleaned up/remastered videos and the Hammersmith live show (and maybe some TV perfs etc) would be MORE than enough for me
Yes but in that 20 years she's had what, 3 albums? And the last album only had one single ANYWAY I'd understand if this came after Aerial but that's already half a decade old! I'd rather new stuff THEN a GH, even if it means another 5 years
Well yeah, but if this is the end, then a GH seems like the only bit of unfinished business
FUCK OFF WITH THIS GREATEST HITS SHIT
New album PLEASE

Clearly I like my Kate MANICALLY DEPRESSED, on the whole.
I've been having a KATE RESURGENCE of late. Hounds Of Love is one of my all-time favourite albums. The other day, ordered all the albums I don't have. The Dreaming on CD is incredibly hard to OBTAIN.
Bear in mind that until yesterday morning's POSTAL DELIVERY I only had The Kick Inside, Hounds Of Love and Aerial (all of which I've had for five years or MORE), here is my TOP TEN:
1. And Dream Of Sheep
3. This Woman's Work
4. Running Up That Hill
5. Hounds Of Love
6. Wuthering Heights
8. Hello Earth
10. The Man With The Child In His Eyes
How MOOPY APPROPRIATE is it that her one tour was called the TOUR OF LIFE?
The Dreaming used to regularly go for a fiver in HMV.. I think I acquired all of her back catalogue around 6-7 years ago on CD from a massive HMV sale or something.
What nursing home did they drag her body out of?
I'm pretty sure there was an abundance of The Dreaming cd's when I last had a rumage through Bush at my local HMV, that might be going back a bit though, perhap's it's now OOP.
Not to stress though, I hear they're re-issuing her albums (again) anyway. I seem to remember them re-issuing them a few years ago though in those cute, mini LP style sleeves.
well fear not you who don't own The Dreaming
great but weird news.
not sure why were getting treated to re-takes off those 2 albums but it will be a treat none the less.
I'm curious what they mean by 'revisiting' - are they new recordings, or will it just be outtakes etc from the time? The thought of Red Shoes tracks (presumably) WITHOUT the 90s-esque production is bringing me out in a mild FROTH
I was all prepared to scoff at this, but some of the Red Shoes tracks done Aerial style could be quite the treat. They're definitely her two most dated albums - and probably the two that would most benefit from an update.
My scepticism levels are still set to STUN but you never know...
That's pretty much how I feel. Initially I thought I'd prefer it if she had chosen other albums, but thinking about it, it makes complete sense. And even if it's not very good, I'm intrigued as to why she's chosen these two (presumably an acknowledgement that she herself recognises they are the two that would most benefit from the treatment), and as to what she's going to do with them.
And I'll have the deluxe edition, please. As long as it's not ludicrously expensive, anyway.
Kate's not exactly one to fleece the fanzzz compared to what she could have done, so I think we'll be OK on the $$$ front. Though EMI might be stick their oar in...
I'll be getting the 3-disc edition I think, I don't have the other two albums on CD so it makes the most sense
I presume this will be Kate's cover album (only she will be covering her own stuff), that's what I thought initially.
I love The Sensual World, so I'm not convinced it needs a lick and a promise and the thought of a track like Deeper Understanding without her Bulgarien banshees is just a big NO! from me. But Red Shoes on the other hand, like you say, could only be a good thing.
What great news! My two least favourite Kate albums
I do love Deeper Understanding though
brief but interesting article in the guardian about new album.
I'm still interested despite what I said, maybe it will turn The red shoes around for me and I did QUITE like the sensual world really
i can understand her revisiting the red shoes but does the sensual world REALLY need touching?
The Sensual World is leagues better than The Red Shoes but a lot of the production is very muddy and overly dense. I think that some of the songs on it could definitely do with a tinker (Heads We're Dancing for one). Rerecorded VOX wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Can she just NOT fuck around with 20 year old material and focus on something NEW, please? And a gig would be nice also.
