A place to share/discover new releases from lesser known artists.

I think this song is an extremely good place to start, seeing as it's been certified sultry AF by the Jark jury.

    A few more from May:

Trashed My Heart is some wonderful deep disco :disco:

You know, I actually LIKE the idea of having a general thread for new releases - not necessarily just niché either.

So many times I look through the new release schedules and I just think “what on Earth is THAT?” - I’m not interested enough in the charts to start digging things out, but having them here might at least ENCOURAGE ME.

Love this despite some lyrical clunkiness (The Sea was wonderful too):

gonna check out that new Ina Wroldsen EP later. not sure what to expect as I only know her from Breathe and writing a bunch of pop hits.

some more really good new stuff this week - Ego is simply gorgeous

Ego and Ear Candy are both excellent. The Pale Waves song is very good too. I tend to be distracted by how much she sounds like a female version of him from The 1975 but it is slightly less pronounced on this one.

The Ina EP is very good. Only one new song though, which seems to be the way with these things now.

    Losing Control is fucking brilliant.

    Here's a fun bubblegum bop:

A ridiculous but quite great house remix (with new vocals) of Milkshake:

And Raye's best effort in quite some time

I am LOVING this thread :disco:

It's certainly turning up more quality tunes than Apple Music's "New Music Friday" playlist which seems to think I like Jessie J and Gangster Rap.

I've "disliked" every Jessie J song known to man and they still keep turning up. I smell Chinese PAYOLA.

Running in my sleep is lush

She could really just have released it as Jessie Ware and I’d have been none the wiser

I am very much loving that RAYE song at the moment.

Taylor verses and a Bleachers chorus:

This Capital Cities one is dumb and infectious:

I wasn't sure if this one might be a bit much at first but I can't really argue with disco hand claps:

brilliant new 90s house vibes from this Mark Ronson/Diplo side project with Mapei on vocals

    instant obsession :disco:

    also:

the EP of the same title is very short but quite brilliant - a bit Charli XCX in places

I hope that is her real name.

The synthiness. :disco: How wonderful that The Golden Filter are finally making music with a tune again.

Lovely, lots to catch up on now I'm back back back from being away. The "Moopy Hot Takes" playlist was on heavy rotation during my SOJOURN :disco:

This came out just the other day. It's not as good as "Bedroom" but iup there with the rest of last year's EP.

I’m all over Catherine McGrath’s album thanks to this thread.

It really IS the 2018 country album that Taylor Swift is never going to release.

Love that track. Chewing Gum was also a major banger.

Broods are back with an excellent summery number

Santigold dropped an unexpected dancehall flavoured album unannounced and should be everyone's summer soundtrack.

Did "Something Go Wrong" for lots of these posts for other people too? SORT IT OUT SWEDES :(

The Santigold track is a lot better than the dancehall moniker had me think it would be. I'm going to give the whole album a spin when the heat kicks in again.

The Broods is good but like the previous album, it ultimately just falls short. Still, at least Mr Broods is a hot piece.

I'm really enjoying CXLOE's new one which may or may not be in this thread already. It's cracking though.

Mel & Kim ("new" band not the 80s sensations obviously) have got a great song out called "Bad Man" which is a fabulous 60s pastiche.

Another that isn't really NEW, but I am enjoying the Richard X mix of Situation, from the forthcoming Yazoo Four Rooms box set.
