That SONIKKU track is the proverbial TITS
I love the video too. I felt vaguely emotionally exhausted by the end
I don't know whether to cry, dance or masturbate.
It is a very good EP. She really is a baby Susanne.
Another very good presumably random one-off from Ina Wroldsen:
That Ina Wroldsen song is pretty great.
I don't know who Ana Diaz is but I am loving her work on the current Kleerup single:
I love this very familiar sounding big gay synthpop song:
I really liked Greyson’s last album, the new single is stellar.
melodic banger from Call Me Loop
I don't think I was aware of him before this, but this song is very good indeed. I did have a listen to the previous single, which I wasn't sure about and had a quite ridiculous video.
I don't know who they are but Spotify suggested this duo (?) to me after playing Doja Cat and I'm really obsessed with these two sultry gems from the recent album
Gimme Gimme in particular is mellow disco heaven
@ameraal @FetchFugly @SDF @northernlad @Pipo
I'm in love with the new track by Mind Enterprises and its 80s synths - for easiest consumption the edit by Purple Disco Machine is probably best
I remember Arlissa being the random alleged big new thing on a new year TOTP years and years ago. It seems she isn't quite there yet but I do like this:
This is really nicely produced, loving the synths bubbling away in the background of the first chorus:
NMF goes COVID THEMED:
I'm completely obsessed right now with this hot SPICE-REFERENCING new one from Tom Aspaul (the writer/producer of Kylie's Feels So Good and several bangers of his own).
It's a love letter to the West Midlands from what I can tell. Spice fans come for the highly iconic double-VB reference in the bridge - "are you out of your mind if you let your head go?" it's by the gays, for the gays!
If you like that he also threw out this truly excellent pop ditty last summer which is hooks on hooks on hooks
@monsta @Pipo @SDF @Dark Carnival @FetchFugly @octophone @northernlad @ameraal
The Aural Fixation episode that he guested on discussing Neon Nights was smashing too!
Finally MORE disco bangers. Other so called popstars should take note.
I already feel 10% gayer* for listening to those songs, thanks love
And who knew that was possible
I love a bit of Tom Aspaul and his disco camp, but that voice is made for small doses ONLY.
oh this is very nice (what delicious artwork too) - shimmery disco
features the lyric "I left my heart in Tokyo", which in itself is quite the throwback
Oh, I like this.
As for Mini Viva, it's ELEVEN years since they appeared. "One Touch" remains a banger for the ages.
been loving Traces since it was released
WM has the great line, “So we’re gonna take a ride on the Midland Metro, Line 1, cos there’s only one line”
one for fans of the new R&B girls (Mahalia, Jorja Smith etc) - Kiana Ledé is totally in the same lane (best known for the excellent Ex) and this from her album out last week is just lovely
@ameraal @northernlad @FetchFugly @Pipo @Loufoque etc - who even are our R&B queens?!
oh my. this is such an immediate, tits out, balls to the wall dance-pop banger.
and a pretty excellent 80s end-of-summer number from Kiesza, who's suddenly good again
The Purple Disco Machine song is excellent.
Good to see that Kiesza's Carly Rae reboot has continued, even if it isn't quite as good as All of the Feelings.
Excellent feature from Say Lou Lou from the new Duke Dumont album:
This one from a few weeks back is great too:
The album also features the FIVE YEAR OLD Ocean Drive, which is still a tune and sounds fresh to be fair.
LOVE Nightcrawler @FetchFugly!
This is quite different from her previous stuff but I really love it (apart from the odd drop out right after the first chorus). I had this come up on a playlist right after Chromatics, and there is something of a nocturnal vibe in common:
this SG Lewis track is a major banger.
a few more
Oh @Jark i love the SG Lewis track
The only bad thing about it, is it makes me want to get ready for a night out
almost every friday these days is providing some hot new shit - it's a really great year for music so far
excellent balls-to-the-wall synthpop banger
a bit PC Music ish
not a bad new effort from Marshmello and Halsey
@SDF @Christian @FetchFugly @northernlad
The Namasenda track is great! She has another one called Dare (PM) that's basically a mellower version that's also very nice.
The SG Lewis song is quite the summery groove. A bit recent Friendly Fires.
I started a (flop) thread for Moyka when she released her last single a few weeks back. Love her and the new one is very solid, even if the chorus doesn't quite soar like her best.
I'm not properly up to date with this week but I like these from last week or the week before - don't the weeks just roll into one...
There is a vocal affectation or two I'm not sure about but the eighties indie aping chorus is big:
A bit of a return to form from Party Nails:
This one is wonderful:
Camden Cox bringing a touch of the Tina Cousins:
excellent work from Utada for the j-pop hunties
really lovely shimmery male dance pop
@Jark how did Kiesza’s new single pass me by until now? It’s absolutely 100% perf for the hot weather
