Same birthday as Petula Clark (who turns 78), I've only just found out!

And on a less FABULOUS note, Chad Kroeger :gross:

She's done the Swedish TV show Skavlan (I think becoming the final Abba member to have done so), alongside Elvis Costello and Desmond Tutu.

I assumed it was just a promo thing for the Live album next week (although I'm sure the timing is more than just a coincidence), but it seems it was a decent interview; she talks about the death of her daughter and husband in quick succession in the late 90s, has recorded a new song for release in December called '1865' (celebrating the first successful climb of the Matterhorn, apparently - I suspect it's not her answer to 'Dance Your Pain Away', unfortunately), AND apparently she is writing an autobiography, but no publication date yet.

And apparently she's worth 1.8 billion SEK, which I'm guessing is around £150m? I always find it odd how that information is so freely available and discussed in Sweden. That makes her 'considerably richer than Agnetha', supposedly.

Cliff Richard losing a fight with a hair dryer.

And - just like that - Madame Fältskog is back in the lead.

I like the fact that she's nearly 70, and looks it.

But I do wish she'd sort her hair out.

I think that photo kind of proves that if ABBA are ever going to perform again, it's now or never.

Fucking hell you guys, not every 70 year old needs to look like she's wearing the joker mask. She looks absoloutly fine for someone in their seventies.

In a way, Abba don't really need to get back together. Many bands end up being their own 'covers' band, and become a load of pensioners jigging around looking a bit silly. But when Bjorn & Benny allowed Abba songs to be used as the 'Mamma Mia' musical, it kind of did away with the whole reforming & doing concerts thing altogether, instead letting actors use their material as a proxy for a comeback tour. In that sense they've being doing that tour for the last 15 years without any of the sad old geezers image that other bands have fallen into.

I'd still like to hear Agnetha & Frida's voices working together again, although that may well be a disappointment in as much as Agnetha has evidently lost a lot of power. Frida said at the time of Djupa Andetag 18 years ago that her voice had changed considerably since Abba, so who knows what it's like now? The few things she's done since have been very much in her comfort zone, with the exception of her opera dalliance with Filippa Giordano.

Anyway, another photo from last night.

I hope he'd pick a more flattering jacket, at least.

Has she gone BALD halfway up her head? And, more to the point, is she still with the WHSmith heir? I do often think to myself that she should give Kylie tips on choosing the right sort of man rather than these ne'er-do-well tarts and scabs

Obviously I don't know whether she has Kylie's personal number but there's always telex or Minitel :(

I'm putting it down to unflattering lighting. Surely Fred is the sort to go full on headscarf if she had a touch of the Gail Porters.
