A lot of "Oh, you have to respect his views because they're his religious beliefs" swimming around the net today. Well fuck that. I have more respect* for a bigot who doesn't frame their bullshit as being the work of a fictional character. At least own your bigotry rather than blaming God, you cunt.

(* - this is still none really but for the sake of argument...)

If those are his private views, well fine I suppose.

However, because he allows those private views to dictate how he votes in the Commons, I have a HUGE issue with them.

I have a bit of sympathy on one aspect; if you do hold the belief that a foetus is a person, and that an abortion is not much different from a murder, then a rape exception - compassionate though it is - doesn't make sense to me (notwithstanding it's a horrific outcome).

I'm just glad I don't believe that there's anything wrong with abortion in the first place. I don't think I could square that circle.

Boris being a cunt again then and using the Foreign Office rooms, china and budget to host some lunatic fringe launch for Daniel Hannan. Chucka and Bryant are obviously up in arms.

Beyond shoving her down the stairs, what more can he do to get the boot? I want him there and facing Brexit in the frontline.

The polling of the Tory membership the Times released today did NOT make for pretty reading :zombie:

If you want a good value bet for next Prime Minister though, Dominic Raab is at 22/1 to be next Tory leader on Betfair and stands a much better chance than that polling would indicate. If he made it to the final two as the Leaver candidate he'd be in an easy position to reap the clear ~55+% of Tory members that want a hard Leave PM.

It does feel very sweet that after a decade of anodyne, focus-grouped to death Tory sheen, Terri spent her god-awful speech spluttering out a lung and being pretend-fired while the backdrop collapsed, it was like watching really niche humiliation porn.

Boris Johnson suggesting sweeping up the dead bodies of ISIS victims to turn Sirte into a Dubai-style """enterprise zone""" hellscape is officially only the second worst public statement of the Tory conference. That's the British dream.

I do find the press coverage and general reaction to her speech a bit nauseating to be honest. She had a cough. Big deal? EVERYBODY COUGHS. It's not newsworthy, it's not entertaining, it's not humiliating. It's just a fucking cough.

By all means tear apart the content of the woman's speech but there's something a bit vulgar, or perhaps just depressingly reductive, about turning a cough into a headline designed to shame.

I couldn't care less if she was ill- the whole thing was positively DELICIOUS to watch from start to finish.

She really is going to end up the least popular PM EVER, isn't she!? :D

Just catching up on this car crash speech now. The P45 gag was well executed and she appeared to take it in good humour. Despite being a little empathetic towards her coughing fit, she's a sad cold mess of a human being.

If the rest of the conference - or the speech! - had been impressive enough, the cough wouldn't have been the story. The cough could only ever be the story if the rest of the conference had been pathetic enough that it could be. Do you think the media wants Jeremy Corbyn to be Prime Minister?

The disastrous speech was completely symbolic of her shambolic premiership and utter mess of a disunited party and therefore totally newsworthy.

The letter falling off at the end was the ICING on a VERY DELICIOUS CAKE :disco:

She posted a pic of her speech with some cough sweets on Twitter afterwards.

To be fair, she did handle the P45 thing well. I don't like her much but the fact she is being lambasted for COUGHING is a bit much. The letter falling off was the funniest part! :D

The vultures definitely appear to be circling now.

I wonder just how long she’ll hang on. That said, Jeremy Corbyn has shown just what can happen if you dig your heels in long enough.

It seems rather tentative though. The general speculation is that the other options would be even worse. That Boris Johnson is this close to be PM is genuinely frightening, but SURELY he can only FUCK UP.
