The new album isn't scheduled for release til May/June 05...I think it's to coincide with her 20th Anniversary since she released her debut album

Not surprising since it hasn't been written yet, but Rodney Jerkins is going to fly to London to write with Cathy for her.

WHY doesn't she just work with Babyface a LOT? Did he have anything on Just Whitney, incidentally?

I'm still one of the few who really liked "Whatchulookinat". It actually had a semi-decent video.

"One Of Those Days" is quite enjoyable too, but "Try It On My Own" is BLAH despite some good remixes.

"Love That Man" was really good though.

Oh right! Well I don't know any of those, are they good?

Her songs on Wating to Exhale were glorious. Even the overblown Count On Me, with its seven climaxes.

Oh I loved Whatchulookinat. Shame the rest of the album wasn't of that standard.

Well Rodney Jerkins produced the new Destiny's Child single so I'm optimistic...Plus it will be interesting to hear what a song by him & Cathy Dennis will sound like...

I'm really looking fowrd to hearing her new album :D

I quite liked Love That Man, but if she released it as a single it would have bombed...it was too obviously about Bobby (If it wasnt it sounded it!)

She shouldav released the Thunderpuss remix of On My Own as a single! Would have been amusing at least...

"Just Whitney" was alright. Nowt amazing but not worth the "car crash" reputation it somehow got...

It wasn't really promoted...from what I can remember all she did was that horrible MTV performance & a few disastrous interviews & that was about it...she's been looking very well offlate, obviously Clive's having a good effect on her

Its worth a listen for £2. I got mine for £3 in FOPP I think- or was it off the net. I forget...its the DVD version anyway. Certainly worth that kind of cash

You should get it...it's not that bad  most of the shops round here have it in her section with her GH at a rediculous £15 while others have no Whitney at all

YAYAY Whitney. This time she'll at least put some effort in I'm sure.

Not especially excited to see Rodney Jerkins but it'll be interesting to see what Cathy does for Whitney. It worked with Celine, hopefully Whitney too.

The GH had to have been cheap to reenter the UK album chart this week.

Speaking of Whitters. I don't suppose anyone has an mp3 of her singing Diana Ross' 'The Boss'? I saw her singing this in some concert on VH1 YEARS ago and I haven't seen it since.

I never thought Whatchulookinat was that bad. Ok it wasn't exactly thrilling, but I still found it pretty decent to listen to.

Oh and I rather enjoy Just Whitney. "Tell Me No", "One Of Those Days", "Things You Say", "Love That Man", "On My Own", "Unashamed" are all FINE songs.

I always assumed "Love That Man" was set to be single, after all it had a bunch of remixes made for it, including the rather NICE Jonathan Peters Mix.

What really sent shivers up my spine from that Billboard article was (aside from the fact he's working with J-Old) that Lindsay Lohan's doing an album with him. As if the original wasn't hideous enough, we now have J-Lo WANNABES. Urgh.

Her new single "Rumors" is more Britney than J.Lo though.

Nah, I was referring to this article. I thought this was about her new material with Rodney Jerkins, got the link from Suedey's other thread in Gayers. For some reason I thought this was in general music discussion. Oh, and Toni Braxton's sisters can't sing (at least on a level with her).

Absolutely agree. Bloody awful record. So so tuneless. EVERYTHING on My Love Is Your Love was better.

I do wish she'd realeased that hilarious gayboy remix of On My Own as a single (Im sure it was thunderpuss) would have been rather amusing

The On My Own vid was shocking too, nearly as bad as Mariahs Bringing On The HeartAche/Break, I think it had Whitney on a catwalk, then everybody threw flowers at her at the end because she'd made it on her own, or something, very arselicky, very deluded and kinda funny

That last thing she released was rubbish. As bad as 'LoverBoy'

I didn't mind Whatculookinat. The fact that she had three videos off that album and only one single was released in the UK shows how badit was promoted here.

I sometimes still see the video for 'On My Own' on chartshow TV or Flaunt and I really like the song...a bit cringeworthy with the lyrics but a lovely song and her voice sounds good. 'One Of Those Days' is just a standard album track imo.
