I'm going to see my friend in a "dinner theatre style" (please note: no dinner served) community theatre play where the audience can BYO food and drink

At least if it's really bad I can get completely fucked

Surely that's a good enough reason not to go.

I'm off to have lunch with a friend and need to buy some nice, smiple t-shirt for a party tonight. God help me because 1)it's new season and I know I'll end up buying a lot and 2)I'm going to buy most things in black or navi blue and they're going to look exactly like everything else I have.

I am being very boring today. Just sorted out all the cables behind the sky box/amp/ps4 etc and next I'm going to the garden centre.

Casual 9am-7pm shift following the flub jab yesterday. I would much prefer being at home doing domestic chores with disco music and candles and shit.

In better news, I will hopefully be making chutney with the homegrown tomatoes tomorrow.

Speaking of domestic stuff; I'm so bored with both the sofa and the floor. I'd like to change both into something light. White or beige sofa and white oak flooring.

what's the point? switch it (and the waves its emits) the fuck off.

i have it on silent during the day. have had for the past 10 years or so. working in a crazy open space pr office has made me allergic to ringing.

    what about ron though? :eyes:

I've always had it on silent too. But turning smartphones off? Both because I use it as alarm clock, so it has to be on, and because it takes a lot of time for it to turn on.

I use my phone for the alarm too so don't turn it off but put it on airplane mode at night. I quite like the buzz and excitment of all notifications coming through at once when switching it back to normal mode, rather than them being on the screen in the morning already :shy:

Just keep it on. I see no reason to turn my phone off.

Tbh it's always on silent even during the day. If i miss a call, well, that's just bad luck.

    have you tried glasses?

seriously though, even if we take the still not well enough researched effects of radiation on your brain while you're sleeping out of the equation, it's been suggested that phones interfere with sleep. even if you don't care about that i like the idea of switching off from the world for a bit.

i do sometimes worry if something were to happen to a friend and they needed me but i guess this is me at my most selfish.

My phone's always on but in my handbag so if I'm not in the same room I won't hear it. Everybody knows if I don't answer the mobile to try the landline instead, that's the only phone I'll hear at night.

It must be an age thing, I hate my mobile, like an annoying toddler demanding that I answer it even if I'm in the middle of something else.

I can't turn my phone off, what if there's an emergency. It's on silent most of times so it doesn't bother me.

That's what I think too, but if we managed without it 10 years ago we would now too.

If phones interfere with sleep, they're not doing it very well. I sleep like a rock.
