That's such a horrible shame. Especially as she just missed out on her grandson possibly becoming President.

If you are Harry Potter geek, you will get the analogy.

Oh and my friend from PA told me she is voting Obama so that is now Obama 5, McCain 1 from my straw poll.

Is it that Dumbledore and McGonagall are goodies and Fudge and Umbridge are bad, or does it go deeper than that?

Harry Potter ain't my fandom but I have a rough knowledge of it. While there is some good stuff, the sheer amount of hilariously bad fan fiction it spawns is enough to amuse for days.

because she thinks that telling people she will be tough on Pakistan is going to win her votes!

It's one thing to have those opinions, it's QUITE another to think that that makes you fit for office...

Oh I am excited about all this election business, although my 3 american mates are on EDGE.

I am quite jealous of them though, since our next elections will most probably see the bad guys getting in :( Although I shouldn't be counting chickens, as theirs still might.

Cindy McCain making an appearance was my favourite part. She's rather suited to the whole QVC jewellery thing. She should start competing with Joan Rivers!

Should someone start a new thread for Election Day, with a new poll that closes Nov 4 night?

    Shit happens lol

In some ways I was kinda right, I said the % vote gap would be a lot smaller than the polls were saying (11-13% most of them) and the gap was a LOT less than predicted % wise

OH NO! What EVER will we do? The percentage gap wasn't AS big as expected. Oh well, Obama should just refuse the presidency then.

The Republicans are getting increasingly bitter about Sarah Palin and are spilling a bunch of dirty details about her now that the campaign is over. Even FoxNews reported this :D :

Oh the knives are really out now! I can't see her getting anywhere near the candidacy in 2012, no matter what the right wing loons of the Republican Party might be clamouring for right now.

Still, surely the biggest failing here was the McCain camp's. I'd love to know what the process was that led to them choosing Palin because it appears to be nothing more than a wild, misinformed stab in the dark.

I wondered about knowledgeability too, but it's in the dictionary... never heard anyone use it though :|

    knowledgeable |ˌnɒlɪdʒəb(ə)l| (also knowledgable)
    adjective
intelligent and well informed : she is very knowledgeable about livestock and pedigrees.
    DERIVATIVES
    knowledgeability |-ˌbɪlɪti| noun
    knowledgeably adverb

I'm sure ANDERSON would never use it.

I loved the way he smirked through that hologram interview with will.i.am. Who the flying fuck exactly did CNN think it was kidding?

To be FAIR on the holgram thing - technology has to start somewhere.

Yes in about 20 years people will look back and smirk but I liked the fact that the election marked the first live hologram in a TV studio anywhere in the world. Next time, it will look better, and the time after that even better, and so on.
