An all female sequel to the franchise starring:

    Sandra Bullock
    Care Blanchett
    Anne Hathaway
    Mindy Kaling
    Helena Bonham Carter
    Rihanna
Awkwafina (an Asian American rapper) brap brap pew pew

With one role still to be cast (rumored to be Elizabeth Banks). Some of the original male cast might have cameos.

Hopefully better than the new Ghostbusters.

    Well, that's MY childhood ruined.

I hope Julia Roberts makes an appearance as Tess in the role of Julia Roberts.

What a BIZARRE cast. Sandy, Cate and Helena I can see, but Rihanna's gonna struggle isn't she?

I'd rather see that cast do a remake of Widows. No one can top Ann Mitchell but Cate would make an amazing Dolly Rawlings.

I was going to scream YAAAAS until I saw the name of that unknown person, then Rihanna and then someone even more unknown.

In an effort to uncover who this random woman is, I found this three-minute song about her vag. It is now of high cultural significance to me.

She's been around since the myspace days. Multi-generational Queen of Asian comedy rap.

Watch her have minimal screen time and her lines will consist of SASSY black girl zingers. She was AWFUL in Battle Ship, if I were Helen or Sandra I'd be FUMING. Why not cast Tina Fey or Kate Mckinnon??

Awkwafina is amazing, she was probably the best supporting character in Neighbours 2!

I bet it's Helena or Mindy

BOTH ARE QOL'S in their respective areas TBH.

She has her own sitcom, The Mindy Project and was also on SNL. Not mega famous. But well known.

Oh her! Her show was recently released on HBO Nordic on demand (where they also have non-HBO shows). I haven't watched it though.

Mindy's always good value for money and The Mindy Project is awesome, but there's something about her that feels much more suited to TV than cinema. It might be that I'm used to seeing her play a very exaggerated version of herself as opposed to an entirely separate character.

No old biddies in this, really?? If a film was crying for a HELEN MIRREN or a STOCKARD CHANNING this was IT.

Watch this get slated and bomb when in reality it'll be as average as the original.

nobody has commented on this yet??

Anyway, it's FINE; not great not shite just...FINE. Just waht you would expect from a heist-themed movie, don't expect many laughs.

Helena steals the show, I think her character was the standout from the rest closely followed by Anne, meanwhile Sandra and Cate both do the job.
can we have a POLL please so I can rate Ocean's 8 an erm 8.

edit: I hadn't realised that trailer from a couple of posts above gives away like 80% of the movie, it's RIDICULOUS.

Saw this tonight. I thought it was a fun watch. Lots of good bits in there. Loved Helena and Rihanna. Anne was a standout too.

I also liked that there weren't any cheap filler fight scenes and car chases that I thought they were going to resort to give us some cliche female 'empowerment' rubbish. All of the ladies were superb.

This felt like Spice World: The Movie - A List Hollywood Actress edition. I don't think there was a single scene that lasted more than 15 seconds. The whole thing just felt like a 90 minute montage of fabulous outfits and vaguely snappy one-liners.

Helena and her head pieces and her weird wandering Norn Ireland accent and Anne Hathaway playing Anne Hathaway were the highlights. Sandra and her creepy immobile face were fine, Cate looked great but had nothing to do. Rihanna was passable in a totally undemanding role. Mindi Kaling had all of three lines in the whole film?

It also felt like they kept retroactively explaining things the audience didn't get to see. "You thought this happened, but ACTUALLY this was happening all along..." - I really dislike that. There was no way to follow the plot, such as it was, because they didn't let you work it out along with them. They just had stuff happen and then explained it later. I mean I wasn't expecting much, but there was literally no conflict or sense of stakes.

This was a dumb heist movie, like the part where they go back at the end and show you what actually happened was dumb.

I could watch these women do anything which is why I didn't hate it. But you Soderbergh would have written an actual movie and not just an ad.
