Fuck yeah, "Peek-A-Boo" - bought this at the time, still love it now.

Tricky to mime to, given the overlapping vocals and the fact that most of the group do fuck all for most of it.

Actually, that record was a massive influence on me with it being so minimal and half the sounds going backwards. It was delightfully befuddling.

"The Only Way Is Up" still sounds great to me - such good fun. Coldcut did such an ace job with the production and you couldn't argue with those vocals.

"The Locomotion" was shit then and it's shit now. Not even sorry.

Right enough...first sign that they were having problems that night.

Only thing I can find to say about Fairground Attraction is at least they split up really quickly.

VotB's bassist and guitarist swapping instruments...wonder if they did actually swap for this track as they seem to know what they're doing...bassist in a Gaye Bykers On Acid t-shirt as well.

The Funky Worm...so many of these records at this time, made by one or two DJs in a day and then they had to find someway to "perform" on TOTP.

Poor Julianne Regan went a bit funny in the mid 90's. She spent a couple of weeks in the studio with Bernard Butler not long after it had fallen to bits with David McAlmont. One day after a particularly fraught session, she turned to Butler and said "oh, I get it now...you're The Devil" and walked out. It is said that Butler replied "No, I'm not. I'm Bernard" :D .

Blimey - Liz Kershaw. She looks really uncomfortable, which is hardly surprising.

Did she ever come out as the anonymous person who got DLT nicked? Given that it was clearly her.

Can't remember this Mica Paris tune at all but I thought I;d remember that time Courtney Pine was on TOTP.

Oh, Martha's Harbour with them being able to hear the track...it really was a lovely song. It's a shame they're remembered for looking like a couple of spare pricks on live telly but I guess it's not as bad as Five Star; string of huge hits and remember for being called "fucking crap" on children's telly.

Think I can just about recall Breathe. They were tipped for big things but weren't we all? This is as bland as a service station sandwich.

Prime Iron Maiden. Fun to sling yr head about to. Rum bunch these days; their numbers include a middle-class pilot, a born-again Christian and a flag-waving Brexiter. I bet they travel separately.

My ailing sack of grey matter tells me that Brother Beyond had several flops before giving SAW a call. I don't like this but I'm amazed how much of this I can remember, which says everything about SAW's late 80's run.

Phil Collins was on last night. Me and Mr Ag both presumed that he's an arch Brexiteer. Google offered nothing.

They do. Anyone wearing one in a pub on a weeknight is a sexual predator.

He said he would leave the country if Labour won the general election in 1997. The country said, as one, "fuck off then".

The Hollies were also on. Whoever the lead singer was at that was quite old then. Sadly the Hollies Wiki made my hungover brain melt.

I legit remember it. I've said before but I was banned from watching TOTP as a punishment for being naughty, so I'd just listen on my radio. It really wasn't the same.
