I just discovered today that Steven Speilberg (yuck) is directing a remake (supposedly a 'retelling' of the original Manga story) starring Will Smith (yuck) and I can't seem to find Bunty's original thread on this amazing film, so I'm creating a new one.

    Please rate this immense movie.

OMG. C'mon people! I'm pretty sure Bunty and I were not the only ones who had seen it a few years ago.

I've not seen it but have just added it to my rental queue. Will post a review as soon as I watch it.

I've not seen it either but I bought it last night out of curiosity as it's been on my list for ages.

AMAZING film, one of my all time favourites, Chan-wook Park is potentially my favourite film director, I would love to know where he comes up with the plots for his films.

I actually think Lady Vengeance is even better than Oldboy (LV is definitely up there in my top 3 favourite films of all time, if not my favourite), but Oldboy is still spectacularly awesome. The first time I watched it I was very much a bit WTF is going on till about halfway through, and then the film twists and it all makes sense.

I would heartily recommend "I'm A Cyborg (But Its OK)" also directed by Park, its in a completely different vein to the Vengeance trilogy but still just as amazing. Its a romantic film set in a mental asylum about a girl who thinks that she is a cyborg. Its a bit off the wall, but its really amazing and super good to watch. Absolutely stunningly beautifully shot too. I can't wait to see his new film Thirst!

Finally saw this this week..! I liked it a lot, especially the way the plot unfolded steadily but without overt explanation. Ultimately the twist was a disappointment though and took a bit of shine off of the end.

Some absolutely toecurling moments though, I haven't had to cover my eyes when watching something for years. At one point, I literally could NOT watch what was going on!
