Thanks, I'll have a look!
I have a Raticate, a Fearow and just need to level up my Pidgeotto to Pidgeot to obtain the holy trinity of disposable Pokémon.
I don't really understand the game that well, but I did explore this neighbourhood more than I likely would have if I hadn't downloaded it.
All my friends went out to play it but I refused. Now I've just downloaded it and I'm joining them later
There was a Charmander right outside my bedroom.
I am terrified of going out into my neighbourhood though. The dodgy pub on the corner is a Pokestop and I've got to wonder if it's worth getting stabbed up for a few balls.
That's nice dear.
Please don't ruin this topic
I am sat on a bench by the A4 because someone has put a lure spell on the "park"* here.
*small patch of grass
All I'm getting is Pidgeys though. Just like real life
I caught a drowzee earlier out on a walk. No idea.
My Venonat seems to be the hardest.
This might seem a NOOB question but what do I do with these little shitters once I've caught them? How do I battle the shit out of people?
I imagine it will be like the real game where you can train them up and battle other people.
I caught a Ghastly in the middle of Asda and felt incredibly embarrassed.
I DON'T KNOW but I've found another lure thing by Hammersmith Bridge and there are groups of youths coming past screeching "A 71 PIDGEY!"
I've got an EGG that needs 10km of walking to hatch
It'd better contain something good like a SNORLAX or a CHANSEY
Someone on my fb is attending an event called Pokemon Go nightwalk or something. Maybe I should join.
How do I get an egg?
Go to a POKESTOP.
I am surrounded by them, mainly cos I live in the town centre.
If you ROTATE the CIRCULAR thing that appears on screen when you look at a POKESTOP then loads of POKEBALLS and sometimes an EGG or other item appear in bubbles which you can collect. I must say the whole thing is not very INTUITIVE
This amused me earlier
Do you have to get an incubator for the eggs to hatch, or is that just a short cut?
You have to get them.
Though this is TOTES my CUTEST one so far
I've only got a load of balls so far
Keep trying. They don't come every time.
I came down to a park here with lots of small sculptires one block away from me only to see four other people in their 20s doing the same thing. This is insane!
I know right You can tell it's all the SHIFTY people staring at their phones! My nearest "gym" is a school so they are so going to start thinking there are loads of PAEDOS hanging around outside
I couldn't get the battles to bloody work though
Pokemon are battled in gyms where your team colour takes ownership. You can put a Pokemon in a gym if it's your same colour if there's room or you can battle 6 of yours against whatever's currently in the gym if it's held by an opposing team.
As you level up the Pokemon you find also have higher CP points. Sometimes this is a better way of getting better Pokemon than using moon dust and candies.
Eggs can only be hatched in incubators. You get 1 unlimited incubator and you find others with various number of uses. You can have as many incubators going as you like but only 1 egg in 1 incubator.
If there's a lure down it is shown as pink confetti coming out the Pokestops. Anyone at the Pokestop can benefit from your lure.
Insence benefits yourself only.
Magic eggs give you double XP for 30 minutes on EVERYTHING so use this time to evolve, battle and catch.
Transfer same Pokemon that you have multiples of to Professor Daddy to get a candy back. Use this to evolve if you don't have it. If it's evolved I use candies to power them up.
How do you get stardust?
From catching Pokemon. Stardust is universal. Candies are type specific. However a Pidgey candie will work on Pideotto for example.
I've also seen loads of people openly playing this in public this week.
It throws me a little because I usually imagine people tentatively walking around with their phones at mid-height are just trying to take a picture of me for one of those attractive men spotted in public blogs
Someone keeps putting LURES outside Chester Town Hall but I don't like to run out of the office and LOITER
Wait until a RARE TYPE pops up
MORE QUESTIONS SORRY
Do you only want to keep one of each type, so you should transfer all duplicates to Dr Whatsisface? Even if some of them have quite high CP? (I've got 4 Drowzees with 135, 131, 98 and 75)
I have a Pidgey with 87 CP and a Pidgeotto with 46, which one do I keep, or BOTH?
Why does Magikarp look DEAD?
Magikarp is a LONGRUNNING JOKE
You need to EVOLVE it
It wants 400 candy and I have THREE, so it might be a WHILE!
It depends how you want to play it. I just transfer anything to Professor Daddy if I have an evolved version. The Pidgey will still be in your Pokedex as caught.
Coz he's falling about on your bed. 400 candies later though and he evolves into Gyrados
Mine is a playground full of kids during the day. It's going to look strange.
Anyway, so is it a bad thing catching pokemons you already have? So far I've only seen about three kinds. And I have no idea what to do with them after catching them.
If I evolve my CP 87 Pidgey will he still have 87 as a Pidgeotto (and hence be better than the 46 Pidgeotto I already have?)
Nah it will be higher.
