Get Mareep for an electric type henZ, when it evolves and learns Discharge it OBLITERATES everything.

It gets other type moves soon, Signal Beam is a bug one, I find that quite useful. There's a rock one too

Signal Beam is pretty good for a bug type move, which are generally a bit shitty.

Right, I'm going to put my Slowking away and get two HM whores. Apparently Tentacruel and Machop have a good spread between them

So I killed Ash in the biggest anticlimax to a game ever, he didn't say anything, and as soon as left, the game was over :D hmm!

    So.... what now?

I think you can go and get one of the Kanto + Hoenn starters. Erm Latios/Latias will be about I think (these might have already happened though?)

You can get them from the Pokeathlon prizes, it's 2500 points (probably 6 or 7 tournaments if you are good), only available on saturdays though.

There's bound to be one lying around somewhere in the world though

The other place you can get it is in Viridian Forest, or if you come first in a bug catching contest on Saturday. Also, on route 33 one of the trainers will challenge you to a rematch then give you one. VICTREE here I come.

:D I made it evolve at level 47, and it immediately learned Leaf Blade and Leaf Storm. I had to get rid of Solarbeam though :( and Slam, but that was terribly inaccurate so not as sad.

It now knows Cut, Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm and Razor Leaf.

Ugh I need to train mine up, it's attacks are shit right now. I was going to use it for the elite 4 but ended up
    ditching it at level 33

    I hadn't even got one :D

I think I have Cut, sleep powder, poison powder and wrap.
I had been using it to wheel out and put stuff to sleep

Because the other moves I had were a bit crappy. Slam was really powerful but very unreliable.

Togepi is kind of crap until it evolves into Togetic, then it can learn some pretty decent moves. I'd get rid of Raticate though. Did you get your Onix by trading Bellsprout?

Raticat is the best at the moment, and he has the best set of moves bite, quick attack, hyper fang and the one that destroys rocks.

I got my Onix from a cave.

I have to say I have given up on this for the moment, I just find it hard to convince myself to play with no motivation. It is aimed at children or fanboys, being none I find the battle system ridiclous (I don't need three text boxes everytime I attack) it's like one of these board games where you sit around the table and say "I smite thee" and the other goes "I am down", weren't video games supposed to get rid of this. The four moves limit would be ok if there were of any use, also leveling is a pain because potions are expensive so I end up running back and forth to the pokemon center for heals. Also no story and hardly anything to point you where to go.

I mean I'm not an RPG expert but oh my god games like FF get these things so much better, FFIV is so much fun compared to this even with all the over the top drama of the story.

I don't blame you Phoenix, you picked the most difficult starter Pokemon to raise and you've picked some pretty terrible Pokemon, Raticate especially. Sure its strong now but when you get further into the game it'll be pretty much pointless. It is a rewarding game though, but you need to put in a hell of a lot of time into it beforehand.
