OK so we're quite busy at the moment with 2009 and then the ultimate final, so we don't want to do overkill, but at some point it would be nice to do a few of these. They'd be much quicker and easier too, obviously.

The only year I have in full is 1987 which could be a good one. Lena would probably walk it with Dansa I Neon, but Arja Saijonmaa might give her some healthy competition and there's also strong entries from Nanne (+ Sound Of Music), Lotta Engberg and even Anna Book has quite a nice ballad if you ignore the completely shambolic live performance!

Bring this up again in about six month's time...

I'd have thought the next competition would be Moopy Grand Prix 2009 (the Norwegian preselection that someone was asking for).

And of course we've still got Moopyvision Monaco to finish...

True, there's no rush. I was just putting the idea out there...

    Ooh yes let's do Norway!

Still at least 20 I think...

I was tempted to start something like Croatia... but want to get the Monegasques out of the way.

I have everything from about 1979 in full in terms of MF.

    Odd, missed that one.

From the 'Countries' thread it looks as though the last country was completed back in November!

There's no momentum at the moment... at this rate poor brave Edea may never get her title.

I must get into Torrenting. I'm missing some GEMS, clearly.

The 90s and mid-80s once would be of particular interest to me obviously.

I am IN LOVE with 'Om Igen' right now... better than either of the ballads that did own Eurovision in 1988 I think.

Moopyfestivalen 2000 needs to be done at some point - some schlager gems in that year :disco:

I would LOVE some pre-2002 Moopyfestivalens, seeing as I'm very patchy on anything before the revamp.

So, now that everything has gone a bit quiet MF wise how would people feel about me starting one of these?

I know David_5K wanted to do something in a 2002-2009 champion of champions mode too but he seems to be away a lot lately. Also these could be run very quickly as they only consist of one round and 8-10 songs.

1992 looks like a good one to start with, despite the dreary winner.

Why 1992? I think we should start from 1990 and move forward from there.

Just because it's a really strong year IMO with a fair few names (Kikki, Christer, a couple of Nanne-penned numbers).

I wasn't thinking of doing them in any order to start with.

And besides you only want 1990 so Carola can win. :basil:

Well, that too, but I am just a bit OCD and I like the idea of going through chronologically from the beginning of the nineties.

Well I don't think 1990 is a particularly amazing year TBH (Carola aside). In fact the early 90s are a bit patchy in general and I'd hate to kill it off from the start for the sake of anal retentiveness.

Can we do one of 1993 1997 or 1999?

Well there appears to be enough interest to justify this anyway so I'll plough on with '92 tonight. If it goes well and we feel the need to structure it, it doesn't make much difference to skip back to 1990 for the next one or something.

    Cool! Thanks VoR! :disco:

The 80s ones are probably the most appealing anyway, so I guess it makes sense to do them in no particular order.

Exactly! My thinking was that we can just cherry pick the really good years. There is a fair bit of guff...

I've just come back to Moopy after a month away and was planning this - I've got all the heats worked out now. But I'll let you finish 1992 first.

    Thanks!

    Each heat has
    • One Melodifestivalen winner
    • Two Moopyfestivalen winners
    • One song from each year from 2002-2009
    • At least one first, second, third, and fourth-placed song from previous Moopyfestivalens
What more could you ask for?
