I HAD to do it. Edward promised a Knokout but never came through  It's fast becoming one of my all time favourites now.

    [10] Sign o' the Times
    [10] Play in the Sunshine
    [10] Housequake
[07] The Ballad of Dorothy Parker
    [09] It
    [10] Starfish And Coffee
    [08] Slow Love
    [09] Hot Thing
    [08] Forever in My Life
    [07] U Got the Look
[10] If I Was Your Girlfriend
    [10] Strange Relationship
[10] I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man
    [09] The Cross
[07] It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night (Live)
    [07] Adore

The live version on the released concert of It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night is much better that the one stuck on the album which doesn't even sound properly live.

Diamonds & Pearls is THE most hit and miss apart from the post-Warners work.

Oh, well forgetting Graffiti Bridge of course. Only 3 good songs of his own on that and better ones from The Time.

It's my 2nd favourite album of ALL time. I'd give it an 11 if I could.

The knockout WILL come. When I can find the time. :shy:

I think I should have gave a 10, yes. It's the best double album ever - better than The White Album (if not reaching its highs), better than London Calling. And not the bloat fest that is Emancipation, still short and just misses out on single CD length.

But I think I may prefer Parade, tighter. I'm listening to Lovesexy just now. SOFT was the first Prince album I ever bought back in 1988. HOT THING, barely 21. It's just TOO much :disco:

    I know!

But fucking hell, I’m tempted! Wish they’d thrown a couple of extra discs in and done the Dream Factory etc. albums as they are supposed to be

£300 for a super deluxe of one of my all time favourites is surely worth it.

I’d do it for Like A Prayer

I’m just getting the CD which I did for 1999. No room for vinyl and no way to play it so it would purely be decorative.

Already had a pretty good version of that one on an old fan remastered expanded edition, which is really the only way I’ve listened to the album over the last 10 years. Finally I can let go of those files.

I would get the deluxe 4-vinyl set if it comes with a download card but I’m sure it won’t, so I too may just get the CD. Is there a deluxe CD option?

Yes, you can choose the CD as an alternative in that Amazon link. £143 is steep, but it has to be done.

6Music had a REALLY GOOD Sign O The Times special earlier this week - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000l8wy

It's sent me down a total PRINCE HOLE this week.
I find him utterly overwhelming as an artist, as there's just SO MUCH STUFF so I tend to just stick around the albums I enjoy the most (mainly SOTT & Purple Rain tbh).
God The Cross SLAUGHTERS ME every single time. All-time Prince number 1 for me.

I'm so excited for the deluxe reissue that's coming up!
THREE DISCS of unreleased stuff that was meant for the various different albums before we got SOTT (Camille & Crystal Ball).
I'm sure most of it has been floating around in loon-land for ages, but it's pretty much ALL new to me :disco:

I really hope ALL this stuff is put up on streaming, and not just the remaster of the original album. :bruised:
I've ordered the peach double vinyl, but I have no NEED for the 6 LP mega-edition, and I'd listen to the unreleased stuff so much more if it was on streaming.

^That was mainly an internal ramble, apologies if it was just a bunch of stuff KNOWN ALREADY :D

Somebody stuck the SOTT concert film on youtube in pristine quality too :disco: That HOUSEQUAKE performance :disco: :disco:

What a load of old shit! Who even is this person??

Sign O The Times is a stone cold classic. Thank God I had me some Prince education before he died.

I’ve ordered the vinyl set from Canada, by the way. It’s going to irritate me enough to make me get the 1999 one eventually too :D

Oh to answer MY OWN question, it seems everything from the 1999 reissue made its way onto streaming :disco:

I love how the material from the SoTT remaster ALONE is more than some people release in their ENTIRE CAREERS :D

Can't wait to make a playlist of all the Camille material and finally hear THAT ALBUM in full :disco:

I can just imagine a lot of [??] ratings next to a lot of them for most people.

Oddly enough I've been having a huge clear out this week and found my old iPod Classic. Most of my digital music is all loaded on external hard drives and I just hadn't bothered transferring it all to the library, so it was nice to play my old music at random. It had been ages since the likes of The Chocolate Invasion and The Truth got a listen. Underrated.

I've ordered it and I don't even have a means to play it (and I no longer collect ANY music). It is just such an amazing record. If there is one thing I want in my possession before I pop my clogs it is this.

Though I also feel like I need the CD edition too and I no longer buy those either.
