I think Scotland has the best slang terms for an erection. A "pinger" is a good one but you cannot beat "a staunner" - pronounced ston-ner - from "staun", an over-accented colloquialism of "stand".

I know stonner fro a magnificently rough Scottish lesbian who used to call me a 'wee stonner', which I always THOUGHT was a term of affection.

Given that calling someone a cunt can be a terms of affection in Scots English, it may well have been.

She may have been saying "a wee stunner", accent depending.

Whilst "cunt" can be a term of endearment in Scotland, I am unaware of any circumstances in which being compared to an erect penis is a good thing but then it's a long time since I've been to Katie's.

A friend of mine was telling me about a production of West Side Story she saw in which something like rigor mortis set in for Tony, and he had to lie there perfectly still on stage for five minutes playing dead :D

Anyone old enough to remember Right Said Fred's Comic Relief record, "Stick It Out" may struggle to hear the work "erection" without imagining Hugh Laurie going "Building, BUILDING, it's a building".
