In a sense, football itself can be described as a religion as an example. All be it a different form.

It brings people together, gives identity etc. But then so many things can be classed in that. Any form of mass group activity could be classed in there.

My family are all Christian, it drives me crazy sometimes with the things they try and justify etc...

Just the man! Can you tell me if it is something that is less pronounced in women generally?

Don't put up with it Jon. Beating you with birchrods to drive out the devil is not okay.

Nah. I think it's just more obvious with men because they are louder about it. For instance, men feel affiliated to football teams and shout and scream at the TV whereas women feel affiliated to close personal friends and they sit and chat with their mates.

OK... that's a huge generalisation but humans (as opposed to men or women) need to feel part of a group. This then means other people aren't part of that group and so become outsiders. And that's when problems start.

That's Tafjel's "In Group/Out Group" theory. :) When we were doing that in Psychology the teach made us make a list of all the different social groups in our year, which got really offensive :D "THE DICKHEADS" / "THE LONERS" / "THE REFERENCE ROOM GANG"

Oh I've got a REAL and PROPER one that usually costs £300 to do.

I want to give face-to-face feedback though (for my own development). I may audition it off to the higehst bidder. Or use it as an excuse to get laid.

I could actually do a real one if people could self-score it. It's all about relationships with people (not just personal relationships), i.e. what you want from others and what you give others.

    HMMMM.

Time for some highly illegal and unethical thinking.
