Well, I've just played it for the first time and I QUITE like it. It isn't what I wanted from a Robyn album, no, and the 5/5 reviews SHAKING AND CRYING in the music press are because of who she is, but it isn't as bad as I'd feared. Probably hovering around 6-7/10 on it's first listen...

I've got it playing in the car and I think it's really great. She's been proper tightfisted with the number of tracks, and I know plenty were looking for a sort of incremental progression of the Body Talk sound, but I think it's sonically interesting and even catchy.

Ended up at #21 on the UK chart. With no relevance whatsoever I see Culture Club are #12, didn’t know they had an album out.

I'm not sure whether I think that's a success or not. It's basically Kim Wilde level. To come well behind Culture Club kind of SAYS IT ALL...

#21 has to be at least fairly disappointing, doesn't it? Not altogether unsurprising given the lack of a hit, but it's been well reviewed, she's given several interviews and she did Jools Holland.

As for the Culture Club album, I'm sick to death of seeing Facebook ads for it. I assume targeted because of my age.

I wanted to go and see Culture Club when they come to Bournemouth next week purely to see Belinda supporting (and then probably leave) but they’ve SOLD OUT.

    ONE FUCKING DATE?

That's more of an insult than an album bereft of a decent chorus!

It's a nice little album. Nothing more, nothing less. And I don't think she's aspiring to else than doing her thing, really.

    My top three

    1. Ever Again
    2. Missing You
    3. Because It's In the Music

I'm still digesting this album after listening to it three times on a loop this evening, but "Because It's in the Music", "Baby Forgive Me", "Ever Again" are all great - "Honey" is still probably my favorite - "Missing U" is still NOT HOT

I don't think I listened to it more than twice. I must sort that out, as I'd be a fool to give up on her.

The only track I’ve taken away from this project is Human Being. Though it’s pretty much a reworking if Suede by Tori Amos.

She's not credited as a feature on Spotify for some reason but that voice is unmistakable when it comes in:

another (rather noxy) ever again performance but i just love the slightly naughtier/cha-cha instrumental. robyn please release it immediately.

this little promo blitz has really worked for me, i've had ever again on repeat for weeks now. definitely one of my favourite pop songs ever at this point.
