Releasing album next month.
If that's the cover, it can't get tackier.
Reminds me of 'Out of Control'...
It's tacky, but nowhere near as bad as Out Of Control.
Releasing her album before Eurovision is pretty smart.
It isn't QUITE as upsetting as 'Out Of Control' and its stretched font hell, and it does look slightly more acceptable on a laptop screen than on my phone, but I think that including SEVEN fonts on a cover is taking it a BIT FAR
Never mind, only a few hundred purchasers will be witness to it after she comes 11th in the semi
I agree it’s smart to release the album before Eurovision - especially considering some of the bookies are calling this a non qualifier.
Her album is out today, and I hope it gets the attention it deserves on here. Absolutely essential pop album.
Half A Heart is pure Fame Monster Gaga, right down to the ripped-off backing vocals and the multiple choruses. Sirens is a synthy attempt at mid-tempo Sia, which comes out far more Carly Rae Jepsen which can only be a good thing. My Touch, I will prematurely declare the best thing Xenomania have done since Girls Aloud's demise, and Dance Like Nobody's Watching is a really lovely ballad, if that's your thing.
There is some generic sameyness elsewhere on the album, but all in an appealing gay dance pop way, and the occasional disappointing chorus aside (Dance!!! doesn't merit the exclamation marks for example), there aren't any real duds.
Loving the new album. Especially Dance and My Touch.
Dance!!! Is my early fave
Don’t Deny Our Love is my fave, but it’s a brilliant pop album, and unashamedly so!
I haven't had the time nor the inclination so far but I'm glad to hear it's as fabulous as I hoped. Tonight or tomorrow I will give it my undivided attention
Did some disco housework to the Initial Talk remix of Monsters and the album. There's some really good stuff on there like Sirens and Don't Deny Our Love, it makes you wonder what the thinking was in including Queens for the Eurovision selection. DANCE!!! is great - the post chorus bit is very I Wanna Dance With Somebody and My Touch has just a bit of the old everything but the kitchen sink, all over the place Xenomania magic.
It is a shame (though understandable) it hasn't got a wider CD release.
I think No Fear, Domino and Monsters are all 10/10 moments but had heard previously so excluding those:
1. DANCE!!! - I’m a sucker for a bit of frivolous navel-gazing. Very Remix by Kitty Bracknell (which was written by @Pingu, fact fans)
2. Half a Heart - I didn’t like this until the chorus which is like being attacked by many penises at once.
3.Dance Like Nobody’s Watching - love me a good ballad-poo. Gonna be crying a lot to this one as I eat McDonalds chips.
4. My Touch - a typical Xenomania grower. Loved it when Saara trolled Nadine by releasing a more watched and listened to version of Why don’t you go to work? or whatever it was called.
5. Don’t Deny Our Love - if ever there was a singer to pull off the psychotic ‘you looked at me once so now we’re married’ stance, it’s our go-getter Saara. When people say “you can do whatever you want” they mean the opposite. And when people say “I know you’ve got reasons to be scared” - RUN
I absolutely hate the title track and still hating on Queens, but generally this is all very Spice Girls and I am here for that.
My Touch is the GOD'S TITS
I’ve only listened to the clip on iTunes but ‘Sirens’ sounds NOT HALF BAD AT ALL!
Dance!!! is a brilliant pop song
Why Queens was even an option for Eurovision is baffling when they have so many better songs on the album
Dance Like Nobody’s Watching feels like it could have been a real moment at Eurovision as well
My first thought on hearing it was that it sounded like something WE'D have sent her to Eurovision with
I just listened to this because @Pingu made me.
What a crock of shit. That EDM production job is embarrassing.
You describe 'basic' as a virtue for about half of the songs you've announced as your favourite of the decade so far.
Is four out of twenty now half, then? Go back to school, hun!
I feel like this album release has been a bit buried in the Eurovision thread, but it really is quite a fabulous collection of probable Little Mix cast-offs.
BY FAR the best track on the album, even if it was written by PARADISE OSKAR. But rather than a stalking anthem, this is actually written as her GF singing to her, when she was scared to come out as a lesbian. Anyway this is a HELSINKI PRIDE 2018 anthem in the waiting....
Oh here we are.
Yes, this woman is such a QOL. My Touch and Dance!! are extraordinary.
Dance!! is the new single. What a joyous summer BANGER!
Dance really is a great song. It would be lovely if it took off for her but I can’t see it happening
I fucking love this album. Top 5...
1. Wild Wild Wonderland
2. My Touch
4. Dance Like Nobody's Watching
She's doing some UK & Ireland dates in October. Tickets onsale tomorrow through her website.
02.10 The Poetry Club, Glasgow
03.10 Academy 3, Manchester
07.10 Borderline, London
08.10 Academy 2, Dublin
09.10 Oh Yeah Centre, Belfast
Competing on Dancing On Ice UK. Quite a decent gig for her, I'd say.
Did anyone go to her UK tour dates? Shamefully I can't say I bothered.
I went to the Glasgow gig, in a TINY venue, probably only a couple of hundred people could fit in it, but she was excellent. She sang the whole Wild Wild Wonderland album plus some of her X Factor songs.
So they’ve given Dance Like Nobody’s Watching a remix
The sister act backing vocals two thirds in
With that cover art, I hope nobody is watching
She needs to learn her angles.
That's a hopeless task, but I've come to love how the camera really does hate her
Anyway I see she's touring, I feel I have to go although nothing is remotely close by. I mean I know London is hardly under served in the grand scheme of things, but there's not one date in the south except Cardiff! Maybe the Travelodges are too expensive for her.
I do love how she seems to make the most of every opportunity she's given what with pushing a (small) tour and new single during Dancing on Ice.
