I think they were estimating that around 20% of the country had voted by 9am but a) that will include postal votes and b) there's a always a before work rush which clams down. I think it'll be about 85-90%, higher than I'd originally thought.
Someone on my facebook has popped up to announce he voted yes. That was after he accidentally spoiled his ballot and had to ask for another one.
Moopy really feels like the opposite of the alleged public atmosphere here in Scotland (well according to the media but shhhh) - worried about the NO GANG piling onto me now
This timeline says the FIRST declarations are at 2am. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/days-history-timeline-scottish-independence-4278535 Plus we have no exit polls... that is going to be a BORING four hours for those staying up. I'm thinking of napping and then watching 2-5am.
Well that's obviously coz only Yes voters have something to celebrate, the major change they're hoping for.
I really do think it's going to be a No result when all's said and done. There's no chance so many polls can be wrong, is there? (No really, is there? PENNY?!)
Whilst I sadly didn't have to crowd surf to the ballot (although I wasn't exactly imagining the same frenzy there was to get a good spot in Madge's Golden Triangle), there was a lot of activity out and about the place, which I rather enjoyed.
It's going to be a No just like what happened with Quebec. The majority of the undecided will most likely vote no. (According to my newspaper)
People can go back to tweeting and posting on FB about how excited they are about going to Nandos on Friday.
It is the equivalent of sleeping with someone else. They got it out of their system, but some shit will have to hit some fan somewhere.
I'm pretty sure it will be a NO but I just want to KNOW and MOVE ON now Even more so when you live with a militant YES
Entirely unsourced rumours flying on Twitter that a polling station in Falkirk has closed early due to 100% turnout EDIT - never mind, it's bollocks
I'll settle for an Aran jumper then. But seriously, I hope it's a yes. After all the excitement a no vote would be such an anticlimax.
After all this fuss I don't just want a NO vote, I want a NO vote an Westminister rebellion to scrap the Barnett formula and deny Scotland devo max.
Don't worry, I'm sure that won't be far off the truth. I think I posted here months ago that my big worry was that after a No vote we'll get completely hammered by Westminster for even bringing things to this stage - and nothing that's happened since has changed my mind on that.
There you go, Scotland should become independent because it'll be... exciting for a few hours after the results.
I'd very much be in the "FUCK OFF SCOTLAND, and TAKE 'THE NORTH' WITH YOU as a LEAVING PRESENT" camp, but that thought of neverending tory rule has me hoping for a No vote. Always winter, never christmas. I can definitely understand why a large chunk of scots want out though. For starters it often (imo) feels like the UK is run by out of touch, contemptible london-centric little cunts like me in the above paragraph
