This is my 4th favourite film of all time. Its just too perfect. Obviously Kathleen Turner makes it, I dont think it would be half the film without her. I do think Sam Waterston as the dad/husband is quite brilliant too.

I don't think it's really fair to say she makes it, although she is absolutely fantastic in it, because it wouldn't be half the film it is if she wasn't delivering those delicious lines, either.

I'd rather say it's one of those wonderful moments when a fantastic part is given to an actor perfect for it, and the result is just utter perfection.

Easily one of my favourite movies of all time. Kathleen Turner beating an old woman over the head with a leg of lamb with Annie playing in the background is pure comedy genius.

My personal favourite scene though is when shes in court and does the weird things with her legs to confuse the guy giving testimony. Its just TOO MUCH.

    Are those...PUSSY WILLOWS?

Ridiculous/amazing film, one of my favourites to watch when I don't want to think too much about what I'm watching (but still massively enjoy it). My favourite scene is where she murders the couple who are eating chicken and she sees the chicken as real live singing birds and gets mad, genius.

an 8 from me. Probably his best post-Divine film but nowhere near as magical as his shit-eating best. Great commentary from Waters on the DVD as always, especially where he talks about the absurd notion of masterbating to a Chesty Morgan film - 'Chesty Morgan isn't pornographic, I used to she her films to kids and they loved them!'

I showed this to a friend last year after he begged to see it having heard so many people rave about it. He didn't laugh once and kept saying things like "Oh, that's just ridiculous" and "That would never happen in real life". Talk about AUTISTIC. No wonder cwej didn't get it!

I think his films generally appeal to a certain type of person, some people just won't get them, I know in the past I've tried introducing friends to the world of Waters and they've generaly been bemused by it all.

Wasn't sure where else to post this, but this is a fabulous and very bitchy interview with Kathleen Turner

I'm sure Liz Taylor would be devastated by that appraisal of her talents from a woman best known for playing Chandler's DAD in Friends.

Perhaps for an audience who'd equally struggle to name an Elizabeth Taylor performance, but I'd say Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Serial Mom, Romancing The Stone and Body Heat are all pretty notable.

Taylor was a fantastic movie star but overrated as an actress. Her best role was probably in Giant though that film is exceptional on almost every level.

I felt pretty much the same about Audrey Hepburn even though Breakfast At Tiffanys is probably in my top 10 films of all time.

In terms of Taylor, I've only really seen Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf of her classic performances, and I love her in it - though it's been a while.

I was randomly youtubing clips of her final screen role in 'These Old Broads' the other day and Jesus Christ she was awful. Though she was obviously heavily medicated and hadn't really acted in years by that point.

I totally agree with Edward - Taylor is a fantastic movie star, arguably the best ever - but Turner is a far better actress. And in War Of The Roses, Serial Mom and The Accidental Tourist, has been in three of my very favourite films.
