oh that's much better
It's such an amazing song on so many levels, truly.
"if you find" is such a fabulous TENNANT-ESQUE phrase
I imagine he uses it all the time IN REAL LIFE
Let's face it, when it comes to the articulate gays we only have him and Moz left really..
And isn't the general sentiment that she ISN'T the loving kind therefore will only be able to perform these actions mechanically but without true meaning.
Oh the HEARTACHE.
I don't agree with that, but I LIKE YOUR STYLE, Chrissy
I read that it's about a girl who has been dumped by a boy who doesn't think she is someone they can love. Hence they trying ANYTHING to make them think that they are the "Loving kind"...
Hence why I said it's so amazing on so many levels. I mean, you can interpret it whichever way you want in terms of the 'title' anyway (that she IS the loving kind but he can't see it hence he leaves her; or that she really ISN'T the loving kind but she'd do anything to keep him from seeing it / leaving her etc.)
It's just TOO MUCH
I can totally see that... but I'm sticking to my darker view that she desparately wants to be the loving kind but doesn't actually have it in her and is therefore doomed to loneliness and failure.
It's the kind of chirpy angle Neil would love.
1. Love Is Pain
2. The Loving Kind
3. The Promise
4. Turn To Stone
5. Miss You Bow Wow
7. Revolution In The Head
8. Love Is The Key
9. Rolling Back The Rivers In Time
10. We Wanna Party
11. Fix Me Up
12. Live In The Country
Why, oh why, must they taint every album with an absolute STINKER? "Live In The Country" is almost offensive, mainly due to the animal noises. What the hell were they thinking?
it's a lot more of an open wound than "Call The Shots" though, which is the sort of song which would come a few months after said girl has been dumped; she's defiant that this ex still affects her...
I JUST DON'T KNOW WHICH IS BETTER
it's my third favourite- it's just a bit of fun, innit ?
I think I can just relate though, everytime I'm being coughed on by fellow commuters crammed in a tube train, I close my eyes and long to be in my little Swedish country cottage.
And then there's the "but they'll say I'm eccentric" line. YAH
PS. "Love is Pain" for 5th single please
It's a TOUGH one alright
But "Call the Shoots" has that extra OOMPH in terms of attitude and THAT middle-8...
"Call The Shots" wins for me because it's just TOO SAD
I definitely see it like this. Having a boyfriend that constantly accuses me of being cold and not enough loving probably helps. No matter how hard I try to hide it, I always arrive to the consclusion that I'm really not "the loving kind".
We are like PEAS IN A POD in this matter, Satan, although I HAVE improved
After my post in the other thread, it made me go back to my memory of listening to this for the first time. Glad to see I remembered correctly
