    - Jo looked FANTASTIC compared to what I expected, and sounded brilliant on the live bits. Gold star for her.
    - I still fancied Paul but I can't say I needed a drawn-out acoustic reading of Reach with a guitar. Srsly.
    - Tina did not get the Cheryl/Posh-esque cheers I had hoped for :(
    - The solos were Stronger (Tina), Uptown Funk (Bradley), Hello Friend (Jo & Jon), Straight Up :bruised: (Hannah), Reach Acoustic Ugh (Paul) and Some Girls/Sweet Dreams My LA Ex (Rachel).
    - It was a properly good show. They almost seemed like a viable pop act in 2015.
    - Bradley had a 'DJing' moment which was a showcase for the dancers but which featured snippets of some of their best album tracks (eg Dance Dance Dance and Do It Til We Drop)
    - I wouldn't have opened with Bring The House Down myself.
    - Viva La Fiesta was an unexpected HIGH POINT for everyone it seemed. :disco:
    - I loved it.

Well let's face it, it's the only way Frankie and Rochelle are ever going to be able to perform to a full arena venue!

Jo, Tina and one of the others have "reformed" to release some cheap shite for charity, I assume Tina was behind the sprinkling of EDM.

SC3 are scheduled to appear on ITV’s “Loose Women” this Monday December 18 to continue their promotional rounds for their brand new single “Family”, which is charting all around the world on iTunes.

The trio now consisting of Jo, Bradley, and Tina continue to fly the S Club flag 14 years after the original breakup of the band.

The show airs Monday between 12:30 – 1:30 on ITV. Be sure to download a copy of SC3’s new single “Family”, available only on iTunes!

LSL may be in another league but Tina is pretty much the closest S Club have got.

In FAIRNESS that new song wouldn’t have sounded out of place on their second album.

If you speed read this thread it makes it seem like they've launched a thousand failed comebacks in about 5 years. Which I suppose is the truth.

I find it truly delicious that Steps seem to be looked back on more favourably now and retained enough loons to keep them afloat when it mattered. They always had a distinct sound and "brand". S Club was just faceless TAT by and large.

It's like justice for all those years of not being played on radio for being deeply uncool when apparently the likes of "Reach" were fine :manson:

Makes you wonder how much MORE Steps could have sold at the time with actual airplay.

I think it was only around ‘Don’t Stop Movin’ that S Club 7 became “cool” - and in fairness that and ‘Never Had A Dream Come True’ were the two songs that they ever really traded on in that regard.

I suppose for a manufactured pop act, S Club 7 achieved a lot more mainstream recognition in terms of Record Of The Year and Brit nominations, but on the whole it was a very narrow window that they eventually squandered anyway.

If a pop act now achieved that same sort of breakthrough having come from the same background, there’s no way they would continue to make a kids TV show and then release a ropey movie.

S Club squandered any interest, and any "media story" in a comeback by trying to do it 20 times previously, all half-heartedly and with only ever with 3 members at any one time. Had they waited until such a point that all 7 were interested and capable of professional performances, then it could have worked. But once everyone had seen Jo, Bradley and Paul flopping and stumbling about half-drunkenly on Lorraine...

Certainly a greater proportion of S Club's discography would be dubiously regarded as "pop classics" by the general public today. Don't Stop Movin and Reach are fondly remembered, and Bring It All Back and S Club Party would be popular picks for any tacky party Spotify playlist. Whereas Steps really have a cover of Tragedy and that's it. As well received as Steps have been, the nostalgia seems to largely be for the band themselves rather than the music. I'm not sure many outside of the loons would really recall their past hits - even the ones that hit the top 3 at the time.
