He's planning on starting one TONIGHT!
S Club/7 just pushed it one album TOO FAR. If they'd have gone out pre-'Seeing Double' then I think the reaction would have been much more "Oh, that's a SHAME", but by the time they called it a day, they looked genuinely a bit TIRED and that's not just because Jo was hunched over like Quasimodo.
In all honesty, I think a fourth Steps album would have seen them go out on a low. The critics were onboard, but the success of the singles was becoming visibily fan-based and they were losing a lot of the "fun" - thankfully they split before the horrendous image projected in the 'Here & Now' video became embedded in people's minds. I was certainly under no illusions at the time that a split really preserved them better than the inevitable collapse from lack of steam would have done.
Found it! I can't believe how much Claire has changed, being BIG really does make her look a different person
Really feel like I NEED to be watching this; I don't have Sky either
At the time rate then:
Lee (Didn't seem to do anything)
Faye (She acted as though the band was beneath her - and her hair in the Tragedy video put me off)
That last tour of theirs featuring S Club Jnrs was one of the worst things I've EVER seen. AND I'VE SEEN HILARY DUFF IN CONCERT.
It was the very definition of auto-pilot.
I don't ever think S Club were ever under the illusion they were anything more than contracted parties - jobbing entertainers if you like. The HITS were a welcome by product but really an added bonus.
Steps wanted to be POP STARS and the hunger was entirely different. Hence the acrimonious split and the continued bitterness.
Claire (the betrayal is STILL there)
Ian 'H' Watkins
No need to drag Hilary Duff into this
The final 12 months for S Club really was PAINFUL - the TV show, the concerts, the music videos, almost overnight they suddenly became just a bit TOO OLD to be doing it all.
The couple in H's village shop
"The village do talk about them don't they?"
*grits teeth* "Oh yes..."
RIGHT seeing as you all say this is so AMAZING I'm going to watch it
It is CURRENTLY on YOUTUBE so I'm GRABBING IT QUICK
Faye performing a pride set to an audience of about TWENTY including a clueless TWAT who knows the whole dance routine OH MY GOD
Two and a half minutes until my download is done - I'm all aquiver
Was Claire a bit slimmer on Popstar to Operastar? She looked better, maybe it was just the outfit
I like how they arranged Faye, Lee and Lisa to meet up first, then the GRUESOME TWOSOME to come in after wards with Russian Roulette in the background.
Claire seems to be absolutely GAGGING to go all-out with the bitchery
"H had his whole... SLEEP THING."
"I was BLONDE, I was kinda CUTE, I was getting MAGAZINE COVERS"
*cut to H covering TV HITS magazine*
I thought that was terrific viewing. One thing that really struck me was that Faye seems like an incredibly fragile human being. It's not hard to imagine that she would have been absolutely petrified about this reunion. The emotion of what happened still seemed so RAW for her and Lisa. It's quite amazing to think that after ten years it can still be that way but then I suppose when being in a pop group is not just a job but a 24/7 lifestyle, suddenly NOT being in one must have been the biggest shock of their lives. I can't wait for next week!
H was awful. He seems like one of those gays who CONSTANTLY has to reference the fact that he is GAY. GAY GAY GAY.
I've just started it - those glasses really make H look EXTRA EVIL, don't they?
You WEREN'T KIDDING
Lisa's emotion through the whole thing is so FORCED it's hard to make a judgement on how she actually feels.
*screws up face trying to push out a tear*
"Sorry *sob*...I just need a minute"
*screws up face harder*
She looked like a PICASSO by the end of it.
I never followed Steps. Looking at H on the show and it dawned on me. Years ago in a fog of marijuana smoke, I fucked someone who looked like him.
It wasn't H, that much I am sure of.
But from now on when someone asks me what my most embarrassing moment was, I will claim that I farted while getting rimmed by H from Steps.
Yes. I forgot just how much I hated him. The way they cut him talking to the crowd like the worst kind of holiday camp kids entertainer between am dram LSL teary eyed musings was excellent. Oh and his nonsense bleatings about wanting his normal life back etc doesn't exactly stack up with the immediate launch of Hand Claire and the move onto SMTV.

It turns out the file I downloaded was even more corrupt than H's soul, so I'll have to try again this evening :grr:
It's on youtube COB: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0LA4cDzScw&feature=related
Excellent That's getting watched once I'm at home (much as I'm tempted to stick it on at WORK it might be a bit much...)
Maybe they will perform this year!

This thread is moving so fast it either needs a split somewhere, or a temporary Steps forum.
I am watching the repeat on Living + 1 now, it's just as good, if not even better than the first time round
Can't wait for Wednesday
I have just seen there is FOUR PARTS to this series, what are they going to do for the last two episodes?
I'm guessing it'll be promo for the Ultimate Collection and probably them in the recording studio doing 'Dancing Queen' and hopefully making plans for the future...wishful thinking
Watching the Manchester concert (the one from 22/12/2001) and nearly crying! Phew, it's good I wasn't a 12 y. o. girl growing up in UK as I'd definitely be a massive Steps-fan then! It must have been really hard especially for kids and tweens/early teens to find out on Boxing Day. I read that fans and their families were slamming the group afterwards, accusing them of lying and staying together for the wonga only. Poor kids!
U probabbly know all this. But it's totally new to me.
I just saw the episode two trailer. Looks genuinely AMAZING
I've seen the first part now and it really is just like a MOOPY GAY STORM IN A TEACUP DRAMA but on an EPIC SCALE
I did like it when Lee said to H "YOU BIG QUEEN"
Next week looks PROPER AMAZE though *gets drunk and airs dirty laundry*
'I forgave her, because I'm quite forgiving'
How good of you H.
I just want to say that after years of finding the whole LSL thing TEDIOUS IN THE EXTREME I am now TOTALLY SCOTT LEE
I just can't get ENOUGH of their ouvre at the moment.
