Can we just have a moment for this TRAQUE DE VIVRE?

I mean seriously THOSE HARMONIES on the Second chorus :disco:

    And the VIDEO :D

The only track of theirs that really caught my GAY EAR at age 14.

I had matching braces with LSL at that point in my life so it really struck a DENTAL CHORD.

At the time I was PRETTY MUCH UNDERWHELMED to be honest. It's too derivative of "Everybody Dance" which is, of course, FAR SUPERIOR

I've found myself beginning to enjoy it since I've been hammering post-reunion Steps, mind.

It's grown on me, but definitely one of their weakest singles and really only a #1 on momentum alone.

Lisa's acting at the beginning of the video is properly hysterical. For me that's the best thing about it.

It's never a song I remember when I think of them. At the time wasn't everyone AGOG that this got to #1 over so many of their others?

And Lee's hair looked shit at this point

Yeah, it really was weird that only THIS of all the tracks they released post Tragedy gave them their other #1. Better Best Forgotten aside, all of their singles (at least one A-side) were better.

It was one of the lowest selling #1s of all time at the time, wasn't it? I don't think its even amongst their best selling singles...

It was at the time, but I should think the mid-decade low has pushed it down the list to a less noticeable position.

As for the song, it's ok...nothing special - I found it ironically lacking the energy and fun that it was presumably supposed to embody. Definitely one of those token #1 singles that many acts seems to score after years of trying with more deserving singles.

Hopefully Teh Satz can add themselves to said list SOON :disco:

As for the song, I've never been keen for very much the same reasons as Slave. For a song that is supposed to be FUN, it's one of their least fun singles and easily the worst of their uptempo singles.

I remember absolutely looning over this the week it came out, but the appeal soon wore off. In retrospect it was easily the worst single from its parent album, and also a considerable step down from the preceding two singles.

It KILLS me that this was their second #1. Given how close about 4 others came (and sold over double first week) and the fact that this is in their bottom 5 A Sides is a travesty.

And it's not even a terrible track. Just well below their usual standard.

What songs held their five #2 hits off number one? (One for Sorrow, Better Best Forgotten, Love's Got a Hold of My Heart, It's The Way You Make Me Feel, Chain Reaction)

Besides Rui De Silva which is mostly forgotten, the other four were massive hits, so it's not like they were deprived by anything undeserving.

They are just the worst house guests EVER. I mean, that poor man and his ruined place. I bet he's now signing onto the dole and regretting ever hiring that rent boy and his fag hag with the braces.

Wasn't this the video where Lisa had BUNCHES as well as the debut of her braces?

Awkward 13 year old girl chic NEVER looked so good. :disco:

Come to think of it, much as I thought 'Here & Now' was truly their worst video image-wise, I think it WAS the styling of 'Stomp' that made it all look a bit PAINED. Dressing them as some kind of punk-pop-cheese EXPLOSION is a look which really didn't suit at all.

They look horrendous. This was the moment where, like S Club 7 running around in Spain like kids for their TV show, they just looked a bit too OLD for it.

I don't think it's that they look too old, it's just hideous styling and a really uncomfortable photograph.

Blue streaks and pink ponytails belong on 17 year old pop-rock brats, and even then it looks AWFUL (right Kelly Osbourne?)

And I don't know what Lou means, I still walk around in my red leather catsuit on a weekly basis
