I feel it's time for a BUMPER EXTRAVAGANZA soon. bring it
1. New material
2. A "Living My Life" deluxe edition
3. A MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN, perHAPS a MAN like YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
YES YES YES to a 'Living My Life' deluxe edition! What's taking them so long? It always seems to be the slightly forgotten album of the Compass Point triumvirate but for my money it's the best one, or at least the album I listened to the most when I first discovered her
There was a long gap between the "Nightclubbing" and "Warm Leatherette" reissues, so I'm sure it's on its way to be honest...
I think "Nightclubbing" just edges it for me, but it's CLEARLY a phenomenal album, as ANYTHING that starts with "My Jamaican Guy" ABSOLUTELY MUST BE
Shame the autobiography didn't really deliver.
Or perhaps it did. I don't think I ever made it to the end.
It was a bit disappointing. All I can remember was her endlessly claiming not to know how OLD she was. YEAH RIGHT
The really horrible font on the cover and nastily "handwritten" title put me right off. I never managed to get past those aesthetic horrors
I own it but haven't gotten around to it yet, given the LACKLUSTRE reviews
anyone seen the Bloodlight & Bami docu yet? there's a pre-showing here on the same date, the same cinema, the almost exact hour that I have tickets to see 120 BPM now I'll have to wait till March
saw Bloodlight and Bami last night. definitely not for the casual fan as there’s no footage from the fabled party days whatsoever, it’s original footage, a lot of from visits to her family in Jamaica (I’ve been dying to hear Grace speak patois). I had no idea there was so much violence and abandonment, it gives you a very good perspective on where all that primal drive comes from. I liked how it also had full performances of songs off Hurricane and some of the older ones to underline the narrative
there’s this absurd scene where she’s to perform La Vie En Rose on a French TV show and they’ve decided to surround her with six Victoria’s Secret clad dancers. she is horrified
BLOODLIGHT AND BAMI is now on the NETFLIX
There's her HULA HOOPING in a RIDICULOUS HAT while singing SLAVE TO THE RHYTHM quite early on and REALLY WHAT ELSE COULD YOU POSSIBLY WANT?
she keeps flogging her brother's new album (what, he already has one out? anyway COMING THIS NOVEMBER) on Facebook
either way, I am pretty sure WE DON'T NEED IT. pause the oyster chucking for a second and get in the booth yourself
What happened to the new album SHE was supposed to be doing? *waits another 18 years*
And where’s the never-promised but long-awaited ‘Living My Life’ deluxe remaster?
CHRISTMAS IS RUINED
she's been teasing FOR YEARS. I think there were bits in the documentary but I don't remember what it sounded like. but hey, if it's as good as Hurricane, do take your time, Grace luv
Can I say this is one of my favourite topic titles in Moopy EVER.
Look forward to the posthumous album in 2045.
I quite like the records awkwardly jammed between the acoustic tiles...also, that could be anyone in the second pic. well, OK, not "anyone", it;s clearly not John Bercow but you get what I'm saying.
OR IS IT *suspicious*
Frankly, what the WORLD NEEDS NOW is GRACE, SWEET GRACE
