Why not start the build up now, eh? I believe the BBC announce the contestants tommorrow. Rumours to date:

    Sarah Beeny!
    Emma Bunton!
    Claire King (Emmerdale or summat?)
    Darren Jordan (Newsreader)
    Caprice

We'll see how much truth there is in those very soon.

CANT WAIT for the series to begin tho! Best thing to happen to Sat night TV in ages. Roll on October 7th.

14 of the fuckers this time!

Hope they aint all Holby City 'stars'.

Good thing about SCD tho, the sheer wit and joy of the show eclipses the 'names' who take part. Its all-consuming. So regardless who is on, it'll be a pleasure.

There has be be a token 50/60-something...

I'd love it if Terry Wogan did it, but that would NEVER happen

I see Tezza as Brucie's natural successor. I hope Brucie NEVER gives it up but realistically this or next series will be his last. Only Terry Wogan could fill his shoes in the true essence of the show.

One of the FINEST tv moments of last year was her 'twirling' into Brendans arms. As Graham Norton accurately described it, she looked like she was 'recovering from an accident'.

I feared the whole concept had peaked too soon early in series 1 with David Dickinson and his magnificent JAZZ HANDS!

I needn't have worried, Julian Clary was yet to come.....:D

I don't understand the Emma Bunton inclusion. A trained dancer (of sorts). Yes, not ballroom but i thought the whole point was contestants with no dance experience generally.

I suppose so. But Bunton was clearly a dancer by TRADE. Its just seems a bit blatant compared to those two. Oh well. She's paired with Darren Bennet. What a cute wee couple.

Emma Bunton couldn't win this even if she dances brilliantly every week, I mean with the public vote taking priority over that of the judges the latter stages are all about viewer votes!

In a change to last year's format, week one sees the boys dancing to stay in the competition whilst the girls entertain with a group mambo.

In week two the female celebrities fight to stay in the competition whilst the men kick back with a group West Coast Swing.

From week three all couples will compete against each other performing either the jive or the tango.

They should really have stuck to 12 couples, they've only done this to combat the X Factor live shows starting earlier

Claire and Brendan were obviously paired up to clash... I AM looking forward...

As for the obligatory Casualty girl, at least it's one I like!

I predict an early exit for Schmeichel and Boag though, she came 4th, 3rd and 2nd in the first three series...

Oh and LOL at Emma Bunton - is this the lowest the Spice Girls have sunk since Mel C was in The Games?
