And a Strictly slot on 29th. Perfect platform for them, really.
Yes @ Strictly! Can't wait.
Album re-release week, very good. Scared of the Dark for Halloween?
Very happy they have a Strictly performance. Although was holding out for an X Factor nod. Yes Strictly gets more viewers, but X Factor musical guests still get a better boost, I think
Either way, I'd love another huge performance of Scared of The Dark, the Palladium performance is iconic for me. Surely they will push the new single though.
They're doing Scared of the Dark!
Makes sense on the title but a shame they couldn't give the new one a go - perfect promo. Though the album is out then so the main thing is helping that I guess.
Glad this track is getting another prime time airing
I think Scared should be great in terms of putting on a big themed performance, and we know they can do it well live. I'm not sure Dancing With a Broken Heart would have translated so well live on tv anyway.
I get the download only bonuses but I've just noticed the fuckery of the vinyl tracklist vs the CD. The vinyl gets Dear Santa and four mixes not on the CD. Hmph.
What was the point of that (one can only presume) Halloween styled video, if they were just going to wheel out Scared of the Dark for a presumably Halloweeny perf?
I think they needed to fill up both double vinyls, but yes, it's a bit rubbish because there is plenty of space on the CD left!
Exactly! They really could have bunged them on the CD as well.
Firstly I was disappointed they were going for SOTD again. But it clearly has the potential to be a real event performance, so if they can pull that off, I'm sure it will do more for album sales and help shift a good few more tickets.
If only there were tickets left to shift! I'm trying to find some decent re-sale ones for less than £100 for London.
There are certainly still enough left at some other venues.
I just realised the fees viagogo charge, fuck that
Has anyone ever had experience at picking up non-extortionate tickets from touts outside the O2/Wembley on the night?
Official charts interview with QUEEN FAYE
at her admitting to wondering how many CDs the others got to sign (I suspect H's labours did not last so long).
That’s a lovely interview and I’m glad they’re considering recording another album.
I really think they’ve a nice little corner of the market and although this album has performed well, it hasn’t exactly set a huge commercial benchmark that would make subsequent efforts futile to match.
I really don't understand that video. What is it so static? All that make up, all those extras, and they barely MOVE!
The "car from above" shots are awful.
They have just announced two dates next July, so it's good to see the comeback won't be wrapping up after the tour.
The video is fine, if a little aimless.
Three now. Scarborough open-air theatre, Greenwich Music Time and Kew The Music. *shrugs*
Right. I'm on it. Seeing as I am refusing to pay £100 for an upper tier resale.
Exactly what I was hoping -let us enjoy all the new music, no need to bang a new album out as early as next year but do these summer type dates (maybe even an Albert Hall gig or random things like that) to keep them visible in 2018 and then come back with another blinder in 2019.
I don’t think they would rush into another album anyway - it’s clear that they don’t want this to take over their lives again and I think that’s a good thing on the whole.
Faye said in the interview they have stuff lined up for next year. Not sure if pushing it to another single would make much difference for album sales but a sprinkling of one off shows seems sensible. I'd quite like to see Queen Faye as a contestant on Strictly 2018 before an album the following year. She has less reality mileage than the others and it would keep the Steps name out there.
The video is OK, but they do look a little lost in it all at points. I also wouldn't recommend Claire to go for the flaming red hair in future.
I know Strictly isn't a SAD OLD FADED CELEBRITY show like the others, but they don't actually need to do anything. They're back and big names again. I'd like to see a Christmas 2018 release for the next album...
Christmas 2018 would be immaculate timing and give Lisa enough time to find some backing dancers from the Dubai Performing Arts Academy.
As long as we get a BRITS PERF next February to go alongside their numerous nominations, I'll be happy.
It’ll never happen but imagine a best group nod
They'll have certainly had more success than at least one of the eventual nominees I'm sure.
First time hearing this - WHAT THE FUCK? Delta must be turning in her grave.
It's not like DWABH was one of Delta's better ones to begin with...
'September Sun' actually IS the long overdue follow-up to 'Paradise Lost'
I really like the new edge that the deluxe edition gives the album. 'Beautiful Battlefield' could pretty much have come from 'Buzz' as well - it's a bit more in the vein of the melancholic mid-tempoish stuff they were delving into.
The less said about 'Dear Santa' the better though...why are their festive efforts so consistently DIRE?
Oh it's out now. Listening to the new tracks
at those remixes.
Yes, September Sun is very Buzz, I like it.
